HIST 2265 - Introduction to African Civilizations Instructor: Jonathan Roberts Bronze Sculpture from the West African Kingdom of Benin, 19th Century A multidisciplinary course on human experiences in Africa and the African Diaspora. It will include discussions about African culture, society, economies and politics, from a continental and global perspective. Students will learn about African history, literature, drumming and dancing, and art from a critical perspective that asks if there are ideas or concepts that are essentially African in origin.
