Background: The Division of Client Server Infrastructure (DCSI) is responsible for SSA employee’s access to SSA Enterprise SharePoint Services (SESS). SharePoint is a Microsoft product that provides a browser based collaboration and development space for tasks and document management for users. DCSI is currently expanding the existing deployment as the number of users and uses increases. This project has expanded the roles of implementation to include SSA enterprise deployment, disaster recovery solutions, SQL Server installation and SharePoint Web development. The Division of Client/Server Infrastructure (DCSI) supports all standard and special configurations in the Headquarters Campus and Regional Offices (RO) locations. DCSI provides support for problem determination and resolution for Windows 2008/Active Directory (AD) LANs including the Managed Member Servers and Domain Controllers – both software and hardware, and Windows Vista and Windows 7 workstation clients. Furthermore, DCSI supports the integration of both SSA‐written and commercial off‐the‐shelf (COTS) software in a Windows AD/Windows 2008 environments. The Headquarters Campus/RO environments are now using server virtualization technology; DCSI implements, troubleshoots and maintains VMWare virtual environments. Position Duties and Responsibilities: Support the development of a SharePoint enterprise design including the infrastructure design, software configuration, migration path and ongoing technical support requirements. This includes documentation of all configurations for future support purposes. To successfully complete the activities of this task the contractor should have expertise in the following areas; Visual Studio 2008 and/or 2010, Visual Basic, C#, PowerShell, SharePoint object model, SharePoint solutions building, ASP.NET, software testing, administering SharePoint Farm, working knowledge of Windows Server 2008, IIS and Kerberos. Evaluate and recommend solutions and designs to provide backup and recovery of SharePoint data. Evaluate and recommend solutions and designs for disaster recovery including local fault tolerance as well as stand‐by facilities located in remote facilities. Evaluate and recommend solutions to provide anti‐virus protection for data stored in SharePoint. Develop a plan to migrate the contents of SSA existing Exchange Public Folders infrastructure to the proposed SharePoint implementation. Develop any automation required to build, configure and preload data for the continuously growing SharePoint sites that will be required for various SSA components and field offices. Establish system policies that will adhere to requirements requested by the field for implementation of the enterprise SharePoint solution with regards to file content, server storage and user capabilities. Develop tools and documented procedures required to manage and maintain the proposed design. Provide third‐level technical support for SharePoint Services as they relate to SSA infrastructure. Evaluate and initiate SharePoint solutions to the existing SSA infrastructure. Configure, implement and support hardware relating to virtualization, including networking and SAN devices. Develop a supportable design for an enterprise deployment of SharePoint within SESS. Deliverables: The contractor shall provide a written recommendation for a supportable design for an enterprise deployment of SharePoint within SESS to the Task Manager via email. Due date will be from one day to one month from the date of assignment by the Task Manager. The contractor shall provide all software, source code, documentation and automation developed for this project to the Task Manager via email. Depending on the complexity of the assignment, the deliverable will be due between 1 day to 3 months from the date of assignment by the Task Manager. Pagers and Laptops – The contractor will be required to carry a phone/pager at all times. In addition, the contractor will be required to carry a second, phone/pager that will be rotated among other members of the team.
