Task: Ethics Commission Report
Choose a movie where aspects of questionable business ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) are covered.
For this movie you must:






Introduction
o Describe the movie. What is it about? Who are the main characters? What roles do they play?
Research Section
o Examine the background story of the movie, finding real life examples where possible.
PRD
o Select one character from the film and complete a Personal Responsibility Diagram (PRD)
What affects our decisions?
o Describe the factors effecting the ethical decisions being made.
Method
o Suggest, using the four point plan, how the business portrayed in the film might change its operations to
become more ethical.
Evaluation
o Discuss the impact these objectives would have on the business in question.
Your project should be both written up in as a report and then presented in the form of a PowerPoint slideshow.
We will work together in-class this week (Monday 24th, Tuesday 25th, and Thursday 27th October. The report is to be
completed and handed in before your internships, by Friday 4th November. After your internships you will present your
movie PowerPoint to the class (Monday 21st November).
Examples of movies could be chosen from Blood Diamond, Monsters Inc., a Christmas Carol, Erin Brockovich, the
Godfather: Part I., the Truman Show, the Lord of War, and many more. You must let Mr. Pönisch know which one you
will choose so he can make sure it is appropriate.
