Latin III
Over the summer you will be focusing upon Latin vocabulary. I have provided two vocabulary lists to
prepare you for the upcoming year. The first is a short, 2-page vocabulary list from Cicero, and the
second is a longer, 5-page vocabulary list from Ovid.
Cicero List: You must know all the words on this list. You will also be making 3x5 flash cards of all the
words on this list over the summer. The first day we are back in school you will take a vocabulary test on
these words (some multiple choice, some fill-in the blank), and will need to show your finished flash
cards.
Ovid List: You must know all the words that have been indicated and marked by the first day of class in
the Fall. You must also make 3x5 flash cards of all the indicated words. You will be tested (some multiple
choice, some fill-in the blank) on these vocabulary words the first day of class, and will need to show
your finished flash cards as well.
Here is a summer schedule: You should have the following finished by the dates indicated.
June 30: Memorized Cicero Vocabulary I, and made flashcards.
July 31: Memorized Cicero Vocabulary II, and made flashcards.
August 24: Memorized Ovid Vocabulary (only indicated words), and made flashcards.
In addition to this, you will need to translate two short passage from Caesar, due on July 15th and August
24. You will email me your translation.
