Youth Spanish Dance Class
This is the same After-School Recreation Club you know and
love. Now, Wednesday all-day service will be provided at Star
Heights Recreation Center as well as Haynes Community
Center.
Have your child learn beautiful New Mexican culture through
dance. Your child will experience the many popular Spanish
dances in our state. It is also a very healthy and fun way for
your child to exercise. The materials and dress code for this
class is as follows: hard bottom shoes, leotard (pink or black),
bandana, free flowing skirt, and water bottle.

After-School Recreation Club (ASRC)
The After-School Recreation Club at Haynes Community
Center will provide developmentally appropriate programming
for school-age children. This will be done through recreational
and educational activities that will enhance the participants
existing skills while introducing and encouraging new interests
and activities. We will provide transportation from school to
Haynes Community Center. Snack will be provided during the
hours of operation. Students are rewarded for doing homework assignments (homework help will be available), reading
for enjoyment, reading to others, and good deeds done in the
center and park. The ASRC will also integrate field trips, guest
speakers, and frequent trips to the city’s libraries, the ASRC
will complement the Rio Rancho Public Schools calendar and
extended care will be available during most school breaks. Services will not be provided on non-scheduled school closures.

clothes into brilliant artwork of splashes, circles, and stars.
Learn dying techniques such as tying, color, and design in this
class designed for children and teens.

venues: drama, art and dance. At the end of camp kids will
perform a short play, have an art exhibit, and participate in a

For your convenience Star Heights Recreation Center and
Haynes Community Center will be accepting payments from
7:00 to 9:00 am and 4:00 to 6:00 pm. The Parks & Recreation
Office will take payments during regular office hours. Payments may be made prior to the above dates.
Rio Rancho Resident Registration Information
Registration for Rio Rancho residents will be begin on Monday, April 6, at 8:00 am at the Parks & Recreation Office,
3200 Civic Center Circle, Suite 100. You may not register
before this date or time. Registration will be limited to immediate family members only. Residency will be proven by
showing a current photo ID (preferably a driver’s license) and
one of the following: property tax bill, current rental agreement, PNM bill, or City of Rio Rancho water bill only. NO
EXCEPTIONS!
Non-Resident Registration Information
Registration for non-Rio Rancho residents will be begin on
Monday, April 20, at 8:00 am at the Parks & Recreation Office, 3200 Civic Center Circle, Suite 100. You may not register
before this date or time.
Session Fee Payment Policy
A $10 deposit, per session, is required to hold a spot. Each
session fee must be paid in full by 6:00 pm on or before the
payment deadline. If the entire fee is not paid on time, your
child will be removed from the roster and you will forfeit your
$10 deposit.
Meals and Snacks
Lunches are not provided. We ask that participants bring a
nutritious sack lunch, drink, and an afternoon snack.

Mini-Houdini Magic Lessons
Become a skilled magician in a few short weeks. Learn to
make something vanish and re-appear. Tear up something and
restore it. Predict the future. You will learn this and much
more. All magic tricks are performed with objects you can find

Basic Cake Decorating
This class introduces beginners to basic cake decorating.
You will be taught the basic steps of baking the cake, applying the printing, and icing. You will also learn how to
decorate cakes with roses, shells, zig zags, and many more
designs. A list of supplies will be given out at the first class.

Make-Believe Theatre
This program will enable middle and high school teens with
“Show Biz Fever” to perform a full-length play to the public.
Participants will have hands-on training in acting techniques,
drama, voice projection, stage presence, blocking, stage directions, props, costuming, and backstage techniques such as
lighting, sound, and special effects. Reading and voice auditions are required.
We will be presenting Nottingham, A Totally Teen Musical to the
public on Friday, August 7 and Saturday, August 8, 7:00 pm, at
the Sabana Grande Recreation Center. Admission is $3.
Don’t miss Make-Believe Theatre’s Spring production of Sleepy
Hollow on Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25, 7:00 pm, at
the Sabana Grande Recreation Center. Admission is $3.
