Prepurchase Evaluation and Support Programs
One of the most important steps of buying an aircraft is the prepurchase evaluation. Whether
you choose to have your evaluation conducted at Atlantic Aero, Summit Aviation or Western
Aircraft, the process will consist of three major elements: The aircraft physical inspection,
the aircraft maintenance records audit and reporting the results of these two items.
Greenwich AeroGroup’s maintenance facilities have the certificated authority as granted
by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to perform inspections, maintenance and
modifications on several different aircraft makes and models. An important addition to the
certification is the expertise of the technicians conducting the evaluation. At Atlantic Aero,
Summit Aviation and Western Aircraft technicians continually gain experience and practice
their expertise through regular formal training and years of working on the aircraft in similar
situations.
We service:
Agusta | Avanti | Beechcraft | Bell | Cessna | Challenger | Citation | Eclipse | Eurocopter
Falcon | Hawker | Learjet | MD | Pilatus | Piper | Sikorsky | Socata
Prior to the Aircraft Prepurchase Evaluation
Extensive preparation and planning for the evaluation is important to ensure that we can
meet your deadlines and expectations. Our goal is to:
• Remain flexible on the input timing because we understand the fluidity of the aircraft
acquisition business
• Understand your requirements prior to aircraft arrival so we can provide an accurate
quote
• Treat all parties involved uniformly and with consistent and open communication
• Provide potential options based on our experience on the make and model being
considered to maximize the benefits of the evaluation investment
• Develop a schedule to meet aircraft broker deadlines and operator or prospective owner
needs
• Keep you apprised of where we are in regards to the work package
• Utilize tools customized for your project, such as Gantt charts and other programs
▪▪ These tools allow you to easily see what is planned and where we are in comparison
to the scheduled chain of events
Prepurchase Evaluation
Once we have an agreement on the statement of work and terms of the evaluation we will
move into the key steps necessary to accomplish the workscope. Those steps include:
• A documented inventory of the items received
• A previously agreed to physical inspection of the selected areas will be performed on
the prospective aircraft
• A single point of contact throughout the planning, execution and delivery stage of the
project will be available to you at all times after the project has been scheduled
• An agreed upon communication process for the reporting of progress and findings
• A complete and thorough examination of the maintenance records will be performed
and reported
Upon Completion of the Prepurchase Evaluation
Once we have completed the prepurchase evaluation and the aircraft maintenance records
audit, we will provide you with a list of airworthiness concerns as well as:
• If there are findings as a result of the prepurchase physical examination or maintenance
records audit, a plan of action will be presented to correct these findings as applicable
as well as the cost of those corrective actions
• Information and options necessary, based on manufacturers or other credible data, for
you to make informed decisions related to the findings
▪▪ Our experienced staff uses internal and external resources such as our ODA and the
manufacturer to provide quick and accurate recommendations and alternatives to
situations that arise during the evaluation
• A user-friendly booklet that combines the results of the evaluation
• Our staff will be available to address any questions or options being considered as part
of the purchase of the aircraft
Discrepancy Approval Process
After the reports have been presented and reviewed by the buyer and seller, an approved
plan of action will be established to return the aircraft to service. If the buyer or seller
chooses to have a Greenwich AeroGroup company conduct the needed repairs and
modifications, a list of such items will be provided identifying associated responsibilities for
the buyer, seller and Greenwich AeroGroup. This plan ensures that all parties involved are
agreeable to the formulated solution. We will seek approval from the current owner of the
aircraft before working any item on the aircraft.
