The focus for this funding is to support organisations that help people in disadvantaged communities to develop, create or access the skills and opportunities they need to help themselves; skills that will enable them to get into work or start a business, now or in the future. In Scotland the focus is on measureable social impact on employability, education or enterprise that makes a real difference in disadvantaged communities. Deadline: 19 February For more information visit: http://skillsandopportunitiesfund.natwest.com/ FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES FLOODING WELFARE CHILDREN FAMILES ENVIRONMENT YOUTH VUNERABLE GROUPS RURAL SCHOOLS AWARDS 1 FLOODING FOUNDATION SCOTLAND Foundation Scotland has set up a Flood Recovery Fund for Individuals and Families with grants available of up to £1000. Priority given to households with people over 70, children under five, people with a disability, low incomes (can be in employment). It does not matter if households already have insurance cover. There are also grants of up to £5000 for Voluntary and Community Groups who are providing immediate relief to people, will be providing longer term community rebuilding projects or have experienced significant structural and or flood damage. Please note this fund is entirely separate from the Scottish Government Relief Fund available through the local authority. Contact: http://bit.ly/1TRPqrw Deadline: Ongoing WELFARE INMAN CHARITY The scheme –Grants are available to registered charities in the UK carrying out medical, social welfare or general welfare activities. Directors are particularly interested in supporting medical research; care of the elderly, general welfare, hospices, deaf and blind, care of the physically and mentally disabled and the Armed Forces. Amount – no minimum or maximum amounts set. Contact - http://www.inmancharity.org/ Deadline –2 times per year, next deadline 29 February 2016 CHILDREN BBC CHILDREN IN NEED – SMALL GRANTS PROGRAMME The scheme – Grants are available for not for profit organisations that are working with disadvantaged children and young people who are 18 years old and younger living in the UK. They fund organisations working to combat this disadvantage and to make a real difference to children and young people’s lives. Amount – Up to £10,000 Contact - http://bbc.in/1lSnwuX Deadline – 4 throughout the year, latest deadline is 1 March 2016 FAMILIES KELLY FAMILIY CHARITABLE TRUST The scheme – Grants are available to UK charities whose activities nurture and support family life. The three principal areas that the charity wishes to support are; • Interventions and support that help families to manage belter and prevent the fracture of the family unit, e.g. relationship counselling, mediation. • Families where sexual abuse, physical abuse, domestic violence, alcohol abuse and drugs abuse threaten the integrity of the family unit. • Prisoners and in particular their families, during and after the period of imprisonment. Newly formed groups are particularly encouraged to apply to help them become established. Amount – Between £1,000 - £5,000 2 Contact - http://www.kfct.org.uk/index.html Deadline - 1 March 2016 ENVIRONMENT GREGGS FOUNDATION – SMALL ENVIRONMENT GRANTS The scheme – Projects that improve the physical environment in a way that will improve people’s lives. Any not for profit organisation can apply with preference given to small, locally based and community led organisations. Schools are also encouraged to apply. All projects must have environmental benefits and priority will be given to those that include members from disadvantaged groups such as illness, disability, carers, homeless, isolated older people or those living in a disadvantaged area. YOUTH STARBUCKS YOUTH ACTION GRANTS The scheme – Working in partnership with UK Youth to provide support and funding to help under 25 year olds not in employment or education to bring their social action project to life. To support young people through their project they will be given access to a specially designed App in order to keep track of their project milestones and achievements. All workers supporting young people will receive a copy of an employability toolkit to run through employment ready sessions and the QCF Unit Leadership pack. VULNERABLE GROUPS FIRST UTLITY FOUNDATION – GENERAL SUPPORT GRANTS The scheme – Support projects that make a genuine difference to the lives of vulnerable families and individuals across the UK, Priority is given to projects that; change the lives of vulnerable families and children for the better; improve the quality of life for older people; make life better for people with disabilities. Particular focus is given on supporting initiatives that can demonstrate a track record in reaching marginalised communities and/or deliver innovative solutions to alleviate suffering. RURAL THE PRINCE’S COUNTRYSIDE FUND The scheme- Organisations and charities that are helping to protect and sustain Britain’s farming and rural communities will be able to apply for funding of up to £50,000. To be considered for funding projects need to contribute to one of three countryside issues, these are; Thriving Rural Communities; Rural Livelihoods; and Farmers of the Future. SCHOOLS THE ELRIDGE TRUST The scheme – To encourage young people to enjoy and appreciate visual art, especially painting. The Trust makes grants to primary or secondary schools in the state sector for school trips to museums, galleries and centres of art at home and abroad. AWARDS GROW WILD – GROW FOR IT AWARDS The scheme – Grow Wild is looking for young people, aged 12 to 25, to enter their new Grow For It competition. Awards of up to £500 are available to create a piece of wild flower – inspired visual or performance their through their Get Creative Award. Groups of young people who want to transform a local space with native plants and wild flowers can also apply for up to £500 through the Transform a Space Award.
