DESIGN BASICS Multi-Point Drawing Purpose Craft • to depict the 3-dimensional world on a 2-D plane. Craft counts and you will be graded on it. Please take the time to clean up all stray pencil marks, smudges, excess glue or rubber cement. Make your lines straight, sharp, crisp and clean. How • Select an actual scene (not a fairytale land) that contains objects with multiple vanishing points. • Draw the scene in multi-point perspective. That means there will be multiple vanishing points. Specs • Work on paper 11x17 or larger • Rather than erase the perspective lines you create, leave some as a part of your composition. Allow the perspective lines to “break the box” and go into the margin or border of your work (see example). The border should be at least 1 inch around. • Use graphite. Use gradation and value to show the volume of the forms.
