Dear Verizon Executives,
As a citizen of Massachusetts struggling to raise a family and make ends meet in today’s
uncertain economic times, I am very concerned when corporations like Verizon make business
decisions that will devastate the lives of their employees by closing work centers and moving the
jobs out of state. I am also a consumer of Verizon services, and I would like to believe that
Verizon takes into account the devastating affect this decision has on their workers and their
families, the communities in which they live and the communities where Verizon has had a long
standing presence. I would expect that Verizon’s culture would be inclusive of being a good
corporate citizen and share the overwhelming successes of Verizon with the communities.
Your decision to abandon the State of Massachusetts and close two call centers that have been
servicing Massachusetts residents for over 40 years goes against all moral and ethical standards
one would expect with regards to your employees, their families and every community in
Massachusetts. Verizon’s integrity, respect and accountability to the employee, the working
families who have contributed to success of Verizon and the public good of the communities that
Verizon serves, should be paramount, where every consumer and resident in Massachusetts
should applaud Verizon. Abandoning Massachusetts and your employees and their families and
our communities is not the actions of a good corporate citizen worthy of any applause.
I am asking the leaders of Verizon to please reconsider the impact of all of the stakeholders in
your decision to abandon Massachusetts. Please keep Massachusetts jobs in Massachusetts.
