ICON Wrap-Up/New I-Board
Hi there Plains and Shawnee
Divisions! I hope you are all having
a wonderful summer and Fourth of
July ! A few days ago, members
from the Illinois-Eastern Iowa (I-I)
District returned from the Circle K
International Convention held in
New Orleans, Louisiana. At this
convention, members participated
in workshops, completed service
projects including Habitat for
Humanity house building and
more at Large Scale Service Project,
and elected the newest members of
our International Board.
Governor Sabrena Lopez, Secretary
Kevin Huang, and Editor Morgan
Sarver having fun at ICON.
The election of the International
Board proved to be a special
moment for the I-I District as
Daniel Tsang of Loyola University
was elected International Vice
President! Josephine Lukito of the
New York District was elected to
serve as our International President
and Cody Schara of the WisconsinUpper Michigan (WUM) District
will be out Subregion C
International Trustee which
represents I-I, WUM, Indiana,
Michigan, and Minnesota-Dakotas
Districts.
International Convention was not
just for Circle K, but Kiwanis
International and Aktion Club also
held their conventions in New
Orleans as well. This allowed
members to see different aspects of
each convention. The I-I District
will also have a representative on
the Kiwanis International Board as
Jim Rochford of the Peoria Kiwanis
was elected International Trustee
for three years. Next year’s
convention will be in Vancouver, so
make sure to attend if you are
interested!
In service,
Spenser
