At the heart of it was INTEGRITY which needs to be the characterizing feature of any noble person. We tried our best to be as true to ourselves as possible. Regarding our loyalty to the alma mater no questions can be raised. The above two gave us the right positive energy to put in dedicated effort to excel. Our students have their stories to tell. These are true reflection of our general spirit as they flow straight from their hearts. We hope to bring out more of these HATs to advocate true spirit of Little Flower reach greater heights … Br. Jaico DIL Brother Britto the Educator 1926 - 2012 We were fortunate to have among us the greatest educator of this age - Bro. John de Britto. Bro. Britto was a very dedicated teacher. Inspite of his vast experience he prepared for each class in a very systematic way. He tried to make the lessons as simple and interesting as possible for the students. He taught them scores of new words each day. He believed that a sound knowledge of English would help them a great deal in their future careers. Today his students are in distinguished positions all over the world even in NASA. Bro. Britto encouraged excellence in the language by awarding cash prizes to students who scored the highest in English every year. 96% was usually the highest and one year 13 students managed to score that. Thousands of village children have benefitted from his noble actions. Brother always believed that regular hard work was the key to success. Even at the age of 80+ he worked hard and set a good example for all. He encouraged children by giving sound practical advice and plenty of moral support. He had a deep faith in God and worshipped Him by his selfless service to humanity. He was not concerned about any rewards or praise. He believed that each person must be given all possible facilities to become self-reliant member of society. A true Karmayogi, Bro. Britto was a personification of wisdom, knowledge and compassion. The above theory also applies to my years in Little Flower Junior College, for I am astonished to note that two whole years have whizzed past me, revealing a colourful blur of vivid memories and exciting experiences. I had the opportunity of meeting so many interesting people here and have forged wonderful friendships. I had the opportunity of meeting great teachers from whom, I am proud to say, I learnt a lot and enjoyed every moment of it to the fullest extent. I had my apprehensions, like every student does, when I first joined this college; I wondered if being part of an actual college atmosphere and not one of the numerous institutions that offer only academic support, would, in any way, hinder me. After visiting the college, though, I knew that I could fit in well here and I looked back, never to regret, rather, only to be thankful that I made the choice to study here. What is it that is so unique about this college, one may ask. There isn’t a correct answer; it depends on what one sees in this college. For me, it is the right atmosphere and the amazing teachers. I must say, I didn‟t know how important the role of a teacher would be in my life. After two years here, though, I understand that role completely. It is not so much about attending classes, copying notes and taking exams, when it comes to teachers here. They inspire you to make something great of yourself. They inspire you to love what you do and to do it with your whole mind, heart and soul. I can safely say that, two years ago, my role models were people whom I read about and only virtually seen. Now, though, I can proudly say that I have met and been under the tutelage of the people I wish to emulate in every step of my life and trust me when I say this, not many students of other colleges can say the same. We students at Little Flower have the privilege of being in the company of knowledgeable and wise teachers and we would be quite foolish to take their help and patience for granted. I will always look back at this college as the place that taught me so many things about myself. What this college offers one, is the opportunity of not just closing one’s eyes and willing two years to pass quickly and painlessly, but to fuse academics with learning; yes, there is a difference between the two. A certain person once told me that „you must love what you do, rather than fear it. Only then, will you be truly satisfied and happy and only when you are happy will you be able to live rather than just survive. So, try to live, not just survive.’ I must say that I haven’t just scraped by these two years. I have lived through every moment and I have learnt from it all. I, therefore, wish to say this: to all the teachers of this college, I thank you for your patience and motivation. It has been an honour to learn under you and I fervently hope that once I step out of this institution, I make you proud. To the many friends I have made here: I thank you for the wonderful times we had and for all the fun and laughter we share; I wish you luck with every endeavour in your lives. To the administration and staff of this college: I thank you for making my time in Little Flower that much easier. To the current and future students who read this: Use every opportunity that this college offers you and appreciate the fact that you are in this great institution. And I reckon that more than just „thanks‟ is long overdue to the higher power in the universe, for steering me toward this Little Flower Junior College – one of the best decisions, I can contently say, I have made in my life. I still remember the times I visited here as a kid, back then, only concerned about the sprawling grounds, the extensive corridors and the fascinating library, all of which seemed like fantastic places to be in. Little did I know then, that nearly a decade later, I‟d return as a student of this institution. I felt at home with the ambience of the college right at the start, without the faintest idea of what these two years would have in store for me. I remember the day we first met all our teachers; it seems just like yesterday. I was awe-struck when I first sat for their lectures. To begin with, it wasn‟t a bit like the routine I was used to, at school. I found myself getting deeper and deeper into the subjects, much beyond the textbook. The teachers prepared us not just for exams, but more importantly for life, giving us the right kind of advice at every stage. And so, whenever we took any exam, it was not only a test of what we understood, but also a test of our character. I found the learning experience at LFJC enjoyable. I discovered the joy of exploring and understanding new concepts and ideas. I cherish every inspirational talk given by my teachers, as that always filled me with enthusiasm to do my work better. Their kind words of encouragement lifted my spirits whenever I found something too daunting for me. Coming to LFJC also enabled me to make good friends, people who will always be an integral part of the memories that will remain with me. We spent many happy moments, talking about a wide variety of topics: from aca- demics to pure, light-hearted banter. Many baffling problems were easily solved when we did them together. During my time here at LFJC, one of the most important things I learnt was, “You do something for two reasons: Either because you like it, or because you fear it.” I definitely go with the former part of the statement. I realized that you don’t study something just because you have to, rather because you want to. Another interesting part of life at LFJC was the time spent in the labs. I absolutely enjoyed every moment of it; we handled things that we had only studied about in theory, earlier. And the joy of completing an experiment with a proper result… Priceless! Amidst all this, I hardly noticed the way time flew past me. We were only beginning to get used to the class and the routine, when we suddenly realized that it was all going to get over in a few months. Every single lecture became all the more precious because we would have to bid adieu to this very soon. I am overcome by a sense of wistfulness when I think that it is all over. I know I‟ll miss being in class, standing in the breezy corridors, strolling past the lawn along the row of trees, watching the squirrels scamper by...(a rare sight in the city). I will miss even more, the company of my friends and the rapport that I shared with my teachers. All these are things that one is fortunate to experience, they can‟t be bought for a price. Two years ago, I never really thought I would study at LFJC, but now I am grateful to God that He directed me here. When I think of it, I can‟t imagine where else I‟d be, missing out on all this. I am glad I was a part of Little Flower Junior College, albeit for a very short while and I„d like to thank the Principal, the teachers and everyone else who was associated with me at college during the time I studied here. I remember…… I remember……….. We were just buds and now we have bloomed into beautiful “LITTLE FLOWERS” that are ready to spread their fragrance around the world. What we are today is because of this wonderful institution. As always said, “ A few things not only give you the best moments for a short period in your life, but create a lasting impact on the rest of your lives…….” On the first day as I walked with my dad across the acre campus, encompassed with huge trees, lawns, long walkways and majestic halls, I was filed with pride. I felt honoured to be a part of this jubilant institution. My dad said, “Huge dreams must often be accompanied by lots of perseverance and hard work – I hope you will put in your best.” I felt a little burdened but only later did I get to know that my college would share my hard work and would never let me down. Each day our classes begin with thanksgiving to the Almighty and by seeking blessings from Him for the day ahead. Everyday we have values being taught. The newly built pyramid is an abode of many such values, positive energy and spirituality. The peace and calm there creates a soothing and healing effect on our minds. During the lectures our capable teachers come all prepared to tackle every kind of student and their questions. It always makes me feel that they were perfectly chosen to fit into their places. Our teachers not only taught us subjects but also taught us to deal with all kinds of ups and downs in life. All through my stay at Little Flower they never let our spirits down. Unlike many In today‟s scenario ,Sanskrit language plays a very important role in moulding a person ,morally and is also successful in changing a person‟s mindset from negative to positive .When a person is first introduced to the Sanskrit language, he or she doesn‟t know the beautiful meaning the language possesses. Some slokas like ÌìQçus| Yzo½ n®\zo½ uÄùçæ ç uÄùçsy| Yzo½ n®\zo½ ÌìQª½ ç ÌìQçus|Œ: Nìþoçz uÄùç ç Nìþoçz uÄùçus|Œ: ÌìQª½ çç EuotŒçêu¤|òçz ØuoªçŒçnÌ®çz‡ Œ:ç uÄŒÉbçz ºçÄmçz Âç{Á®ço½ Euo ÌÄ|Þ Ä\|®zo½ çç Are very close to my heart .The above sloka means ,that if one wants comfort ,he should give up education, if he wants education, he should forget comfort .There is no education , for the one who chooses comfort and there are no comforts for the one who wants education. The other sloka means, that because of excessive charity the emperor Bali was ruined , because of excessive self respect Duryodhana was destroyed and because of excessive passion for women, Ravana was ruined, therefore excessive deeds should be avoided everywhere. From these two slokas, I have learnt a lot, as it has created awareness in me that ,education is some- other places our college not only taught us but instilled us with wisdom and true education. Learning was made interesting and realistic. It has equipped us with all weapons we need to face the battle of life. In the course of our stay, our institution organized many cultural events and conducted many inspiring seminars. Not only within but we were also given lots of exposure outside . We were always encouraged to reach above and beyond. The art of encouraging and appreciating the students was also what I felt was truly unique and touching the hearts. There was a special place and an individual recognition for everyone of us. No one was ever disappointed. This encouragement strengthened us all for our further journey. Even the atmosphere around us was very friendly and made us feel at home. Even in my life the picture of my college reminds me of the past days where nature was the teacher and people learned on a trial and error basis which gave them the power to stand up each time they tripped and it gave them the confidence to look up to a higher goal. As we drew closer to the IPE we were given lots of practice to pass out in flying colours and it was also time for us to bid bye to a place which had been our home for the past two years. Each person has a different point of analyzing and grading things, but to me, personally Little Flower has been instrumental in helping me reach my goals. It also gave me many beautiful things, thoughtful lessons and lasting memories. I have made many true friends, learnt to keep up relations, to never give up, to dream bigger, to have the right attitude and lastly to treasure all these days which will never return again. To the Glorious institution that nourished me to become what I am today…… “You will always be the best among the many and your place will always be HIGH UP!” Fronia Priscilla , IIH (CEC) thing which is very essential and that I cannot have both education and comforts simultaneously. I have realized the fact that, if I study today, I will surely have a better tomorrow. From the second sloka , I have learnt that anything is excess is not good. It would only lead me to a wrong way .There fore whatever is done ,should be done within limits, scoring 94 or 95 marks in Sanskrit language without understanding the subject is of no use, but when one develops a bond with the subject ,by loving the language ,he or she has already excelled in it. as ,when one loves a particular language for its own quality ,he/she automatically would master in it. Another important point to note is that a student‟s mindset about the language, is set by the Teacher ,teaching the language in its profundity ,then every student would love the subject .And this talent is undoubtedly there in all the Sanskrit Teachers of my college. Not to forget that Sanskrit is very important languages, like Telugu, Hindi are derived from this historical Indo –aryan language. There fore it should be prompted in every school and college so as to get the heart and intimate sense of our own culture. Coming from St. Paul‟s High School, Hyderguda, I feel proud and privileged to have been a student of this esteemed college. LFJC helped me blossom through curricular and co-curricular activities ad gave me opportunities to make the right choices through the right method of education, discipline, classroom and camps etiquette. Our sincere thanks to our lecturers and management for the successful completion of the syllabus with great concern and felt t r enthusiasm every year. I hea would like to highlight the fact that we the students of LFJC consider ourselves the most privileged as each student is paid personal attention during the practical and the theory classes concerning their respective subjects. The infrastructure of the college, that is, the classrooms, well equipped laboratories, our library, our canteen are second to none. Our parents are up- dated about our conduct, performance in studies, attendance and punctuality which in turn helps them in keeping track of our over-all development. The various activities and competitions conducted in our college help in bringing out the talents and sports-persons within us to help us succeed in our capabilities. We feel proud of the best faculty and management. Mercy Sucharitha , IIF (BPC) First of all I thank my Principal for giving me this opportunity to meet and spend sometime with some foreigners. I would like to share a few happy moments of the time I spent with them. It was really a great experience. When I first met Romane and Mathilde. I had apprehensions as to how I would mingle with them?”Will I be a good host , will they adjust ? etc….” But all my fears vanished as I starting conversing with them. They turned out to be very friendly. And I started feeling as if we had been friends for a long time. As we headed towards my home, I thought I would give them an Indian taste by making them taste Panipuri. So we went to the stall that was next to our college. We reached home and my parents were very happy to meet my new friends and so were they. I was loaded with surprise gifts from them. We spent some time chatting and then played some games like frisbee etc.. We had dinner and went for a walk. Next morning I helped them to get dressed in Indian attire. h c They were really looking beautiful. I decorated their hands with n e r F mehandi to make them feel and look more Indian. From there we moved to Vishalakshi „s farmhouse at Shamshabad. My friend and I served them a homemade special chicken dish which we had prepared ourselves , they relished it thoroughly and were all praise for it. We then danced to some desi numbers. They shook a leg with us in the typical Indian style. Next we visited the Birla mandir . They appreciated the architecture of the temple. It was an enjoyable but very tiring day. The next day was the day of parting and as they expressed gratitude I was almost in tears. During my brief association with them I realized that they adjust to new people and new places easily. It‟s hard to believe how two long years just passed like the winds making them history. How wonderful it was to grow and learn under the ceiling of the ma- jestic college, headed by great Administrators and educationists and flowering in the care of our dear and affectionate teachers. With every bright morning, the beautiful, welcoming roses at the entrance, and the sprawling campus filled me with strength, hope and confidence. Every tree branch that rustled with wind, narrated stories of great and inspiring people groomed and shaped in the environs of Little Flower. Each of its large lecture rooms was filled with the vibrant energies of the knowledge seekers and echoed with the dedicated voices of the teachers. Little Flower for me was India in a small scale. It was a union of knowledge seekers and knowledge givers from different walks of life with different skills and abilities, creating a wonderful concept of unity in diversity. Little Flower took the triangular student-teacher-parent relationship to a new level in which each of the three interdependent entity works in beautiful co-ordination.
