The Head Coaching Incentive Plan has been approved by the NCYSA Board of Directors in an effort to provide adequate to superior coaching throughout all recreational age groups. Our belief is that with the education of our coaches, our players will gain a foundation of which to grow upon from an early age. Coaches will be more inclined to continue coaching and develop along with the players.

Any person that qualifies as an eligible coach will have all registration fees of their participating child refunded at the end of the season. An eligible coach must be the head coach. Co-head coaches or assistant coach are not eligible for refund.
If more than one child is participating on the same team both registration fees will be waived.
Any person who wishes to coach a qualifying recreational soccer team for the NCYSA is eligible when:
A criminal background check is completed
Head coaching application is accepted
Certification License Number and Issued Date is submitted
If a module is completed a copy of the completion certificate must be submitted
No misconduct complaints received during season a.
Complaints dismissed by the board will not interfere with reimbursement.
The participating child must be a member of the team of which the person will be coaching.
In order for registration fees to be waived, the coach must meet the education requirements listed in the below table.
Education requirements are specific to the corresponding age group. Education exceeding the specified age group does not qualify for the waiver of registration fees.

Five hour course is recommended for parents and recreational coaches working with children in the ages of U6, U8 & U10. All applicants must be 16 years of age or older to attend course. The course provides a better understanding of the specific age groups and how to place players in age appropriate activities. Developmental characteristics of the age group are covered. The course consists of 3 hours of practical field work and 2 hours of classroom theory.
Candidates who attend the course receive an official US Youth Soccer Coaching Manual,
Kentucky Youth Soccer Lesson Plans, Coaching Articles, a Kentucky Youth Soccer Pen and a certificate upon completion of the course.
Three hour course totally focused on helping coaches teach the technical skills players need to execute to play the game. The course consists of 1 hour of classroom work followed by 2 hours on the field and is highly recommended for coaches working with players between 9 to 13 years old as well as parents of players in these age groups. The three hour course is aimed to provide the candidates with more on the field activities which they can use immediately. Coaches must have attended the US Youth Soccer Youth Module course to be eligible to take this course.
The course curriculum is aimed for coaches to focus on the technical aspects of the game and candidates who attend will be guaranteed to always see different and new activities offered by the instructors. It is recommended that candidates attend the youth technical certificate course once each season as technical skills and activities provide the foundation for player development.
Candidates who attend the course receive, a US Youth Soccer Skills DVD, Coaching Articles, a
Kentucky Youth Soccer Pen and a certificate upon completion of the course.
This course has flexibility in its topic so if a member association wishes to have a specific subject address that is easily accomplished by simply requesting to Adrian Parrish.
Twenty Two hour (approximately) course, normally scheduled for a Fri (evening) Sat & Sun. The course consists of theoretical and practical instruction on the teaching of techniques and tactics of small -sided games between 1v1 and 6v6. The emphasis will be to build on the player's technical development by applying tactical concepts with game situations. All applicants will be assigned pre-course work which will be required to be completed prior to attending the event.
All applicants must be 18 years of age or older to attend the course.
Prior to attending the course, candidates are required to review the USSF E License Candidate
Guidebook. Pre-Registration is REQUIRED for the E course, so make sure to sign up early - no onsite registration is available. Each candidate will need to complete the Pre Course Work. Any coaches that received a Not Ready Grade during the USSF "E" License course that wish to obtain the qualification can do so by follow the procedures for retesting.
