EXISTING PROGRAM UPDATES SCHOOL OF BUSINESS Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA): Major Expansion This year the School of Business has added four new majors to its BBA degree. In addition to the existing Accounting major, students can now choose between: Financial Services, Human Resource Management, Marketing, or Supply Chain Management. First year intake has expanded to 240 seats, offering excellent new options to students seeking a business degree. SCHOOL OF HEALTH AND PUBLIC SAFETY Nutrition for Healthy Lifestyles Program length has changed from 10 to 8 months. Pharmacy Assistant Increased the number of seats to 32 in both Winter and Fall intakes. The BBA will offer a common first year, with students entering their chosen major in year two. SAIT’s business degree stands out because it offers a higher number of business- and majorrelated courses than comparable programs. It also offers practical and immersive courses that give students valuable experience solving business problems under the guidance of highly qualified faculty with industry experience. In their final semester, students have an Integrative Experience Elective, giving them the choice of a work placement or capstone consulting course, to integrate and apply all their knowledge in a real business setting. The BBA has moved to a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) structure, meaning that students will now bring their own laptop to class. The laptop must meet the minimum device requirements listed on the Laptops and Technology page at sait.ca/business. Business Administration Diploma: New Majors The two-year Business Administration diploma has added two new majors, in addition to the four existing majors (Accounting, Financial Services, Management, and Marketing). Now, fulltime students also have the option of taking Human Resource Management or Supply Chain Management. Graduates of the diploma will have the option to apply for advanced standing in SAIT’s BBA, subject to a competitive admission process. New Academic Advising Structure This year the School of Business introduced an integrated team of academic advisors to guide students throughout their business degree or diploma program. There are now seven fulltime advisors who can provide support on a range of topics. To book an appointment, contact business.advising@sait.ca or call 403.284.8485.
