Overall implementation of SAP at Straumann
ASC can look back on a 12 year tradition of Consulting at Straumann.
The first contact took place in 2000, when Straumann was forced to
replace their consolidation software. Straumann decided to implement
the SAP product FI-LC, what was performed by ASC.
Because of the good experiences from the previous joint SAP project
with ASC, Straumann decided to execute the worldwide implementation
of SAP R/3 and other projects with ASC as their Consulting partner as
well.
„Nowadays there are a lot of Consultation firms, which have the capability to do SAP implementation
projects in the ERP area, but only with the fewest seamlessly deliver the expected success.
At first the global implementation phase at Straumann was confronted with a classical “false start” caused
by the wrong Consolidation partners. Only when the ASC had been integrated into the complete globally
oriented Rollout-Project and been put in charge of the 16 Country-Rollouts success could be ensured.
This success is still based on the same foundation today as it was at the Kickoff 12 years ago: equality –

consolidation solution – the monthly group closure of 32 corporations in 25 countries is history in a mere 4

Introduction of parallel ratings according IRFS and local GAAP

Rearrangement / redesign after introducing FI-LC, followed by the implementation of FER on the SAP-successor module EC-CS.
Rearrangement / redesign according IFRS and implementation on successor module SEM-BCS for legal as well as segment and
management reporting including cash flow and preparation of business report attachment-information.

Design and implementation of BW/BI (Sales, Finance and Management Reporting)

Redesigning the planning processes and execution in SAP (CO, FI, EC-PCA, BW-BPS) including integration into the Consolidation
(SEM-BCS)

Split of the operative Swiss Branch in 2 legal units and the resulting projection in SAP effectively saving multiple millions of CHF

Optimizing / reorienting of the processing as part of the introduction of a principial structure

Conception and implementation of Treasury with SAP for loans, money trading, FX trading, derivates respecting IFRS 39

Conception and implementation of Electronic Banking (direct SWIFT connection for MT940, etc.)

Continuous support according to customer demand / cooperative capacity management (external support declining over time,
since the SAP Competence Center has been built, trained and reinforced); Exceptions: Outsourcing of the complete support and
