Shake Shake Shake!! Pots and Pans – Get all the pots and pans from the kitchen and create drum kit outside. Noisy or quiet – The children will find things around the Gan and identify if they will make a LOUD noise or quiet. noise Painting to music – Play different types of music. Talk about tone, volume and help children to pain accordingly. Listening to sounds – Sit in a circle with the children and listen to recorded sounds of building sights. Try and identify the sounds. Bubble wrap – pop the bubbles with fingers, hands and feet. Bouncing Balls – Get different types of balls and bounce them on the floor and listen to the different sounds they make. Scrunchy paper painting – Crumple up different types of paper. Dip in shallow trays of paint and press onto paper. Listen to the sounds and see the patterns. Shaking tins – Fill tins with different things. E.g. beads, lentils, duplo… secure the lids and shake. Bowling – Create different bowling allies. With tins, bowling pins, boxes ect… Box stacking – Make stacks of cardboard boxes outside and drive or run through them. Shape building trucks – Cut shapes and glue on paper. Peep over the gate into the building site and see the different types of building trucks. What makes that sound? – Make a screen and make different sounds with the items created throughout the week and ask the children to identify. Dragging pipes – Attach different types of piping with string to the cars. Drive as fast a possible and listen to the sound. CRASH, BANG, BOOM Early Years Foundation Stage Focus | Preschool Reading Numbers People and Communities Exploring media and materials Self-­‐confidence and self-­‐awareness When reading to children this week; focus on ‘recounting’ – stop after each page or so and ask children “what happened on this page?” Focus on MOST and LEAST vocab – in everyday situations around the gan this week; ask the children “Which has the most” and “Which has the least” (More/Less) In Circle time, talk to the children about different languages; point out that we speak HEBREW and ENGLISH – but there are other languages… invite words from other languages, and sing songs from other languages each day. Especially home languages (German, French, Russian, Swedish) Listening to everyday sounds with children, and asking them to ‘isolate’ sounds and discuss what they can hear Encourage them to be aware of their own toileting experiences; ask each child if they have done a ‘kaki’ or a ‘pee-­‐pee’ before nappy is changed, Early Years Foundation Stage Focus | Toddlers Reading Focus on how to handle and LOOK AFTER books. “Is the book the right way up” focus on direction of text (Left/Right or Right/Left). Here he is!” Moving and waving arms with different music (classic, pop, rock, lullabies) Playfully help babies to recognise that they are separate and different from others. Gently squeeze arms and legs, encourage children to look at their reflection and talk to children about what they see in the mirror
