The Department of Economics
and
Management is the youngest Department of
one of the most ancient European
universities: the University of Padova, whose
origin dates back to 1222. The Department
was founded in 1990 and soon became a
leading center in the higher education in
business and economic sciences, benefiting
of the advantages of a young and
motivated organization inside a glorious
tradition.
Many agreements have been drawn with
other academic institutions all over the world,
and the Department provides for all its
students a training period in private firms,
public institutions, research centers, and nonprofit organization.

For the 10 years in a row the Department of Economics and Management ranked in the first
three position among Italian Universities in terms of the overall quality. The ranking takes
into account several dimensions: quality of teaching, students' placement and research
excellence.
In 2014 Censis ranked University of Padua as the top University in terms of scientific
productivity.
In 2015 about the 12% of students regularly enrolled are involved in mobility programs.
Incoming students come from more than 50 countries and we have more than 80
International partners. About the 25% of our outgoing students continue the exchange
period with the internship abroad and about the 20% of incoming students are supported
to find an internship into Italian companies.
The dSEA has agreements with Industry Partners ranging across all areas of businesses
(financial sector, consultancy & auditing, industrial and retail companies, High-tech firms).
These cover 18 countries internships abroad, 500 average number of training agreements
per year.
