Objective:
Ecology Video Worksheet
Students will be able to identify and describe feeding relationships in a variety of
biomes using vocabulary from the ecology notes.
California State Standards:
- Biology 6: Stability in an ecosystem is a balance between competing effects.
As a basis for understanding this concept:

a. Students know biodiversity is the sum total of different kinds of organisms and is affected by
alterations of habitats.
c. Students know how fluctuations in population size in an ecosystem are determined by the relative rates
of birth, immigration, emigration, and death.
e. Students know a vital part of an ecosystem is the stability of its producers and decomposers.
f. Students know at each link in a food web some energy is stored in newly made structures but much
energy is dissipated into the environment as heat. This dissipation may be represented in an energy
pyramid.
Directions:
You will see a series of video clips. Each clip will be a few minutes long. For each
video clip on a separate you will:
1)
make a food chain/web showing the feeding relationship between the organisms in the
video clip, and
2)
write one sentence describing the clip using 2 vocabulary words from the list below.
You may count each word once.
