APPLY FOR ADMISSION – NEW STUDENT If you have graduated from high school, will soon graduate from high school, have a GED, or are over the age of 18, you may apply for admission: o o o o Fill out a hard copy of the HB 1079 Affadavit form (http://www.leapwa.org/ep/ep_HB1079.asp). Fill out a hard copy of the SPSCC Admission Application (http://www.spscc.ctc.edu/sites/spscc/ upload/filemanager/Admission/Apply/admission_application.pdf). Special instructions: Leave the SSN# blank or write 000-000-000. Fill out the citizenship questions like this: “Are you a U.S. Citizen?” Mark “no”. “If not a U.S. Citizen, country of citizenship”. List your country of citizenship. “If not U.S. Citizen, what is your status?” Mark “other”, write “HB 1079” in the blank. Submit the affidavit and the application by dropping it off at Enrollment Services in Building 25, faxing it to (360) 596 5709, or mailing it to 2011 Mottman Rd SW Olympia, WA 98512. If Enrollment Services contacts you to ask for documentation, just state that you are enrolling via the Running Start program and your SSN# isn’t required for that. FIND MONEY FOR COLLEGE o o o Students without a SSN# aren’t eligible to apply for federal financial aid, state financial aid, or scholarships administered by the SPSCC Foundation. The Financial Aid department maintains a list of scholarships for undocumented students in their scholarship drawer (Building 25). The Office of Diversity and Equity has a list of scholarships and other resources posted on their website: http://saw.spscc.ctc.edu/diversity/tipsheets.html. TAKE THE COLLEGE PLACEMENT TEST o The College Placement Test determines which level of math and English classes you are prepared to enter. ADVISING o Advising helps you plan your educational goals and complete them as quickly as possible.
