Your system administrator might configure these features for your phone depending on your call-handling needs and work environment. Parking and Retrieving Parked Calls You can “park” a call when you want to store the call so that you or someone else can retrieve it from another phone in the Cisco CallManager system (for example, a phone at a co-worker’s desk or in a conference room). Call Park is a feature that your system administrator must enable for you. If you want to... Then... Store an active call by using Call Park During a call, press to switch to Park and press it. Picking Up a Redirected Call on Your Phone Your system administrator might enable Call PickUp for your phone if you share call-handling with co-workers. Call PickUp allows you to answer a call that is ringing on a co-worker’s phone by redirecting the call to your phone. You can use Call PickUp features to handle calls for co-workers who are in your call pickup group (PickUp) or who are in another pickup group (GPickUp). 44 78-16888-01 Advanced Call Handling If you want to... Tips • Obtain the call group pickup code from your system administrator. • When you press PickUp or GPickUp, you connect to the call that has been ringing for the longest time. Using a Shared Line Your system administrator might give you a “shared” line. Shared-line features do not apply to standard, unshared lines. Typically, a shared line has two main uses: • One person applies a shared line to multiple phones—For example, your shared line, 23456, applies to your wireless IP phone and to your Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920 for Cisco CallManager 45 office desktop phone. An incoming call to 23456 rings on your desk and on your wireless IP phone, and you can use either phone to answer the call. • Multiple people share a line—For example, you are a manager who shares a line and extension number with your assistant. An incoming call to the extension rings on both of the phones. If you have a shared line, you might see the “in-use-remote” message on your phone screen indicating that a co-worker is currently using the shared line. You can place and receive calls as usual on a shared line, even when the remote-in-use message displays. Maximum Supported Calls on a Shared Line The maximum number of calls that a shared line supports can vary by phone model. For example, your Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920 supports a maximum of two calls on a shared line while your co-worker’s Cisco IP Phone 7960 can support four calls on the same line. If there are two calls on the line, the NewCall softkey is unavailable to you but is available to your co-worker. 46 78-16888-01 Advanced Call Handling Sharing Call Information and Barging Your phone screen displays information about calls that your co-worker places and receives on the shared line. This information might include caller ID and call duration. Also, when you are using a shared line, information about your call is displayed on the co-worker’s phone screen. When call information is visible on the phone screen, you and co-workers can add yourselves to calls on the shared line by using the barging features. Barge—Allows you to join a shared-line call with an IP phone model that has the built-in bridge enabled. You cannot use Barge to enter a shared-line call with another Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920. cBarge—Allows you to join a shared-line call with any IP phone model and convert the call to a conference. Privacy—If you do not want co-workers who share your line to see information about your calls, enable the Privacy feature. Also Privacy prevents co-workers from barging your calls. See the “Preventing Others from Viewing or Joining a Shared-Line Call” section on page 49. If you want to... Then... See if a co-worker has an active call on the shared line Look at the phone screen to see if “In Use Remote” appears on the status line and the calling party ID appears next to the line number. Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920 for Cisco CallManager 47 If you want to... Then... Add yourself to call on a shared line by using Barge Select an “in-use-remote” call on your screen and press Barge. The shared-line user hears a tone and “To Barge” displays on the screen. You can only join a call that a Cisco IP Phone (with Barge enabled) initiates. Add yourself to a call on a shared line by using cBarge Select an “in-use-remote” call on your screen and press cBarge. Other parties hear a tone and brief audio interruption, and call information changes on the phone screen. cBarge converts the call into a conference so you can add new participants to the conference call. See the “Making Conference Calls” section on page 37 for more information. When you hang up, the call remains as a conference call provided at least three participants stay on the line. Move a shared-line call to another phone with the shared line 48 Press Hold. On another phone with the shared line, press Resume. 78-16888-01 Advanced Call Handling Tips • Barge and cBarge softkeys are not available for private calls. • You will be disconnected from a call that you have joined using Barge if the call is put on hold, transferred, or turned into a conference call. When Privacy is enabled, the privacy-on icon displays next to your phone number on the phone screen. Allow others to view or join your calls on a shared line Press Private. Tips • If you have Privacy enabled on a shared line and make a call, “ in use remote” does not display on other phones that share the line; there is no indication when the line is in use. Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920 for Cisco CallManager 49 • If all other phones that share the same line have Privacy enabled, you can still make new calls using the shared line. However, you cannot join any in-progress calls using the shared line. Tracing Suspicious Calls If you are receiving suspicious or malicious calls, your system administrator can add the Malicious Call Identification (MCID) feature to your phone. This feature enables you to identify an active call as suspicious, which initiates a series of automated tracking and notification messages. If you want to... Then... Identify a suspicious call Press MCID. If the MCID request is successful, you will hear a special tone and see the message, “MCID successful” on your phone. These critical calls might require higher priority handling, such as being able to bypass other calls. If you require specialized 50 78-16888-01 Advanced Call Handling call-handling capability, your system administrator can add Multilevel Precedence and Preemption (MLPP) to your phone. Receive a preemption call While on an active call, you hear a continuous tone for about 10 seconds. The preemption call then overrides the active call. Tips • When you make or receive an MLPP-enabled call, you will hear special ring tones and call waiting tones that differ from the standard tones. • If you enter an invalid MLPP access number, a verbal announcement will alert you of the error. 52 78-16888-01 CHAPTER 5 Using the Phone Book and Speed Dial Features The Directory menu provides access to these features: • Personal Phone Book • Speed Dial • Corporate Directory To help you set up and use these features, this chapter includes the following sections: • Using the Phone Book, page 54 • Configuring Speed-Dial Hot Keys, page 58 Your Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920 includes a local phone book.
