Field Trip and Case Studies of Chinese Enterprises
This program is specially designed to give overseas students and business
professionals exposure to China’s vibrant business scene and to enhance their
business knowledge in the business context. It will also further their understanding
about the political, economic, social and cultural aspects of “doing business” in China
and the impact of Chinese economy in the globalization era. The whole program is
taught in English.
Students will have a chance to explore various types of business institutions
ranging from private and state-owned companies to multinational companies in
joint-venture arrangements such as Tianjin Dynasty Winery Ltd., Tasly
Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd., OTIS Elevators Co., Ltd. and ROHM Co., Ltd. All the
cases are chosen from the real business cases of multinational companies that have
successfully entered the Chinese market through adopting unique marketing
strategies and also from large Chinese corporations that have entered the global
market. Through field tours, discussion of these cases and tasks related to these
cases, students will gain knowledge about economic terms and marketing strategy,
learn to apply theories to solve problems in real business settings and most
importantly have a better cultural awareness about the Chinese business world in
the context of globalization.
For those students and business professionals with concrete career interests
related to working or do business in China, this program will enable them to explore
the skills they would need to acquire or develop further in order to work or set up
business successfully in this environment.
