Most people dreaded Sparta. You can't really blame them for it was a warrior state.Boys got got taken from their mothers aged 7 for army training. Then at aged 20 he would face a risky task and if he was still ALIVE he would become a pure warrior.Even though they were not able to become a warrior, girls learned the skills of the army. Why?you may ask well they believed fit mothers gave birth to strong warriors! The society of Sparta was poor. There was no voting,no government and no civilisation whatsoever but fighting. It was a skill of Sparta's. Athens Unlike Sparta, Athens produced thinkers and a calmer attitude. Girls and women were not seen as important by the Athenian men.Athens had a habit of conquering land and taking money.Girls were taught the art of weaving by there mothers.Women could not leave the house unless there was a funeral or visiting other Women without their Husband's permission. The Pelopannisian war Ath The Pelopannisian War The Pelopanisian war was a battle between Sparta and Athens that lasted 27 years. It started when Athens decided to conquer Sparta. They sent a messenger to tell Sparta to give up their land or die. This did not please the Spartan kings one little bit. They sent a messenger to Athens to tell them that this meant war.In the end Sparta somehow managed to defeat Athens but promised that they would not burn Athens down to ashes. In return Athens had to promise not to conquer anymore land. And that comes to the end of our enquiry.Spartans were more powerful. Th Ancient Greek Olympic Games 730 BC Zeus in all his glory
