1. Project Short Title (5 to 8 words): Financial Trading System (FTS) software for FSB trading room
2. Brief Description of Project: The new FSB building will have a Trading Room. The goal of the new
Trading room is to extend the educational goal of Miami University through the Farmer School of
Business with cutting-edge real world application. This room will be used by students who are taking
Finance courses. The FTS software is designed for teaching in educational trading rooms. The system
provided a complete and comprehensive teaching solution as well as for those who want real world
simulations.
3. Impact on Students Served or Evidence of Student Need, starting with the number or percentage of
students or courses served:
500 or more students each semester taking finance courses and graduate students
4. Justification for Funding this Project:
The goal of the trading room is to integrate into the graduate and undergraduate curricula for student
learning and professional development. The FTS software will allow the FSB students the opportunity to
real world trading. The FTS is a state of the art educational trading platform with powerful analytics
designed for learning. The FTS software will allow the faculty to integrate to their courses.

FSB has funded the server and data storage for the FTS software

Identify one or more milestones and/or expected project outcomes that indicate project progress and
completion. How will you assess the value to students? Measures of enhanced student learning or usage are
highly desired. These items should be chosen to facilitate independent evaluation of project completion and
value to students.
