The University’s faculty, students and staff represent a wide range of ethnic, religious and economic backgrounds. General Summary: This position is funded by an external grant source. If the grant terminates for any reason, or if the grant funding is lost or reduced for any reason, employment with the University will be immediately discontinued. The Research Analyst (2) will manage the implementation of all aspects of a research program aimed to improve policies and programs for low‐income, marginalized children and families. This individual will oversee participant recruitment and data collection for a longitudinal preventive intervention study and will serve as a contact for participating families. The Research Analyst (2) will also be responsible for hiring, training and supervising community interviewers. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: • • • • • • • • Manage the implementation of research studies, including training and supervising professional research staff, monitoring project budgets, and serving as a contact for participating families. Complete Institutional Review Board materials. Project budget oversight. Hire, train and supervise community interviewers. Supervise data collection through various methods (surveys, focus groups, interviews, secondary data acquisition). Recruit, track and locate study participants. Perform data cleaning and data management. Participate in appropriate community and professional groups, representing DePaul University and its research agenda and establishing important stakeholder relationships. • Track expenditures of a 5 year National Instiute of Health grant and report to the principal investigator. • Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: • Advanced degree in Public Health, Psychology, or other relevant Social Science field. • Minimum of three years of related research management experience, including the supervision of professional research staff. • Strong analytic thinking skills. • Ability to translate and convey complex concepts and study findings in oral and written communications. • Excellent problem‐solving skills. • Ability to manage multiple, concurrent tasks. • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with others in research design and implementation. • Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative. Preferred Requirements: • Experience in longitudinal data collection, including experience recruiting, tracking and locating study participants living in urban neighborhoods. • Knowledge of the interdisciplinary field of prevention science. • Ability to speak Spanish fluently.
