Review with your students

____ Review the PLuS Policy Guidelines for students (have the student sign last page)

____ Review cancellation procedures and absences

____ Student PLuS Participation Letters to Professors (discuss disclosure)

____ Permission to Consult Faculty and Advisors (discuss Academic Progress Reports)

____ PLuS Exam Proctoring procedures, PLuS Test Administration Information form

____ Foreign Language substitution based on the diagnostic evaluation (if the student is interested in receiving a foreign language source substitution, write memo to the director)

____ Early Registration procedures. Encourage student to schedule appointment with an advisor. To register a user name, and a password given by DePaul are needed.

____ Discuss with the student services provided through the Office for Students with

Disabilities (copy card activation, books on tape, assistive technology lab)

Getting Organized

____ Update, and/or complete student information in PLuS Student Database form

____ Complete Quarter’s Calendar using course syllabi to note due dates

____ Make copies of student’s course syllabi

____ Complete a weekly schedule/planner (courses, work, and other time commitments)

____ Discuss Goals and Activities (complete form)

____ Have the student use a date book (or other way of organizing him/herself)

____ Discuss means of getting in touch with you, and the PLuS Program

____ Discuss importance of communicating concerns, problems, etc.
