EDGE Advantage Summer Intensive } EDGE Learning and Wellness Collegiate Community consists of two interdependent parts: ◦ A team of skilled (Master’s level) professionals who are deeply invested in creating college success for students who have struggled with mental health problems or life skill deficits that have impeded their ability to succeed academically in a consistent, sustainable way ◦ A community of young adults committed to learning the skills and creating the habits required for success in college and beyond } EDGE Learning and Wellness Collegiate Community uses a clinically-integrated coaching model to effect lasting, sustainable change in the lives of our students. Our experienced, dedicated staff members share a passion for helping young adults achieve their full potential. An intensive summer program that immerses graduating high school seniors in the EDGE community to experience college life with coaching support } Allows students a preview of college in order to prepare them for the challenges of the college transition and to give them a head start on addressing academic and other issues that frequently arise for first-year college students } Explore decision-making and learn the skills of self-governance in order to set goals, prioritize, and achieve } Get feedback from coaches and peers and experiment with a variety of study skills and emotional regulation techniques to begin developing the habits necessary for their transition to college } Create a success plan for the fall by going through the EDGE transition planning process } 2015 High school graduates who have selected a college or university and intend to enroll in August or September 2015 } Have been recommended by a therapist, school counselor, or educational consultant who believes that the student could benefit but does not need a longer-term placement at EDGE Learning and Wellness } Committed to living in our community, taking classes at a Chicago college this summer and to follow expectations of EDGE Students } Enjoy challenging academics and explore Chicago. u Depaul’s streamlined application process will allow students to be accepted and start selecting classes three business days after they apply. u Non-Degree Student Admission u Summer I Session: June 15 - July 17 u Summer II Session: July 20 - August 21 u 10-week courses: June 15 - August 21 u Tuition per credit hour: $570 (this is DePaul’s tuition and will not be included in the EDGE Advantage cost) u (most summer classes are 4 credit hours) u For complete list of summer classes click on link below. u http://offices.depaul.edu/student-records/schedule-of-classes/ Pages/default.aspx } Two session types to choose from ◦ 5-week: June 12th-July 17th or July 17th-August 21st ◦ 10-week: June 12th-August 21st EDGE Advantage Students are housed together (gender specific apartments) } A meal plan will be included } Fees include housing, meals, and all services } ◦ Please contact us to discuss enrollment options and costs. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.
