Page 1 of 1 Bob’s Engineering Instruction Manual for BE-SP3 Circuit. How to use a VOM: There are many VOM’s on the market so we will give you one example. Simple VOM’s read many things. DC Volts, AC Volts, Amps, Resistance, Diodes and Transistors. This one costs $9.95 We found it on the web. http://www.goldmine-elec-products.com/prodinfo.asp?number=G12847 This is one of the smallest and neatest digital VOM meters we have ever seen. Unlike most small VOM meters, this meter even measures transistors and current (up to 10 amps). Ranges: DCV 200MV, 2000MV, 20V, 200V, 500V; ACV 200V, 500V; DCA 200uA, 2000uA, 20mA, 200mA, 10A; Resistance 200ohms, 2000ohms, 20Kohm, 200Kohm, 2000Kohm; Diode; Transistor hFE NPN/PNP. This tiny meter is only 3/516" L x 1 3/4" W and fits completely in your hand or pocket. Comes with flexible test leads and built in battery. Easy to read high contrast LCD display features large digits! Once you try this meter, you'll seldom use your full size meter again! Brand new in retail blister package. Hurry, we bought out the supplier's entire inventory of these quality meters and they won't be able to supply more of these for a long time. Orange case (picture shows black case which we no longer sell). G12847 To find Resistance of motors, solenoids or pots, turn the selector to 20K ohms then press the test probes to the part. If the reading is below 2000 then you can turn the selector down to 200, if below 200, turn down again or until you get a full 3 or 4 digit reading. To test DC Voltages, turn the selector to DC 500V then press the test probes to the points you want to test. + to + - to -. It will show a “–“ on the display if the wires are backwards. If the reading is below 200V then you can turn the selector down to 200V, if below 20V, turn down again. Always start with the higher setting so you don’t burn out the meter. To test Amps and mA, turn the selector to 10A, move Red wire from center socket to one on right (the 10A socket) then press the test probes to the part. If the reading is below 002 then you can move Red wire back to center one. Then turn the selector down to 200mA, if below 20mA, turn down again. Always start with the higher setting so you don’t burn out the meter. Refer to the Meter Manual for more on how to Use it. © Copyright Robert D.
