Summer PSAT Practice
1) Diagnostic Test
a. Take the Diagnostic Test that begins on page 31 (an answer sheet is provided in the
workbook)
b. You are only required to com plete Sections 1, 3 and 5, as these are the sections that
relate to English
c. You ought to time yourself as if you actually taking the test
d. When you complete the test, use the answer key immediately following the test t o check
your answers
e. Please grade your test accurately—you will not be graded on correct and incorrect
answers; the purpose of this exercise is to provide baseline data
f. You should have this with you the first day of class
2) Vocabulary
a. Review the vocabulary lists (pp. 134-183)
b. From the words listed, com pile your own list of 50 words that you find to be troublesome
or difficult for you
c. You should choose at least one word from each of the 48 lists plus two more words
d. In class on the first day, you should have with you your list, plus flashcards—with
definitions—for each of the 50 words
3) Rubric
