2007 MAXWELL AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE

Fannie Mae Foundation will award up to $300,000 for Outstanding Supportive

Housing Developments

WASHINGTON, D.C.

– The Fannie Mae Foundation , in collaboration with the

Partnership to End Long Term Homelessness, seeks applicants for the seventeenth annual Maxwell Awards of Excellence Program. They will make four awards to nonprofit and nonprofit/for profit collaborations to recognize outstanding development of supportive and affordable housing for homeless individuals and families. Each 2007

Maxwell Awards recipient will receive a $75,000 grant to continue its work in the field of supportive and affordable housing for homeless individuals and families. Deadline:

October 31, 2007.

The Maxwell Awards of Excellence Program seeks to identify, recognize, and showcase the outstanding work of nonprofit organizations in developing and maintaining affordable housing. The program also encourages other corporations and foundations to become funding or investment partners in these endeavors.

In 1988, to commemorate Fannie Mae's 50th anniversary, the Fannie Mae Foundation announced the Awards of Excellence Program. The awards were renamed in honor of

David O. Maxwell, who retired after ten years of service as chairman and chief executive officer of Fannie Mae and the Fannie Mae Foundation.
