Learner Objectives: 1) The student will be able to analyze the characteristics and qualities of a responsible US Citizen. 2) The student will create a well designed collage. 3) The student will illustrate an amendment from the Bill of Rights. Show-Me Standards Addressed: Knowledge: SS.1, FA.1 Performance: 2.1, 4.2, 4.3 Grade Level Range: 7 - 8 Subject Area: Social Studies Materials and Resources Needed: • Performance Task Packet containing Student Prompt and Scoring Guide • Text and other reference material • Various art supplies: magazines, poster board, glue, scissors Time Needed for Event: Approximately: 1-55 minute class period Instructions for Administration: Provide the students with a Performance Task Packet and read the prompt to ensure the directions are clearly understood. Also provide and discuss a scoring guide. Pre-assessment Instructions: Students will need the prerequisite knowledge of citizenship and their personal rights and responsibilities. The student will need basic knowledge of the artistic process of collage making.
