My Life Collage – CGI
Image Size: 8” x 10” or 10” x 8” @ 200 ppi
Turning the project in (project will not be graded unless delivered properly).
Save your project as a jpeg named mylifelastname.jpg to the shared Google Drive folder named MY LIFE.
Save a layered, PSD file of your project in your student network drive (the one with your id#).
Goals




Create a dynamic well-designed illustration or collage using materials from your personal history
(including handmade art material).
Use materials from your personal history and hand generated imagery to create a dynamic
well-designed collage.
The image you make will use a specific color scheme: Mostly warm colors or mostly cool colors.
You will be providing all your own materials for these images.
Materials
Personal History Materials:
Material from your personal history might include: snapshots from your childhood, recent pictures of
yourself, friends or family, ticket stubs from a memorable events, clothing, stuffed animals, vacation
pictures, awards or trophies, poems, paintings, favorite foods, your bedroom, favorite objects, etc.
Handcrafted Materials:
Any imagery you have created with your hands. This includes: drawings, paintings, handwritten text etc.
Minimum Material Requirements:
 The image should use a minimum of at least 3 personal history images and 2 handmade images.
Guidelines that we will discuss in class:



Design your collage using an asymmetrical composition that leads the viewer’s eye throughout
the image.
Use repetition and variety to create harmony, rhythm, and visual interest.
Remember, make use of a specific color scheme: a warm color scheme, or a cool color scheme.
