The company operates a collection of airport retreats, only for American Express® Card Members, that enables its patrons to “relax, recharge and reboot.” For the new American Express Centurion Lounge at New York’s LaGuardia Airport, Big Red Rooster’s design team sought to create a truly unique, differentiated travel experience that delivered on brand promise and embodied Amex’s commitment to the art of service. This was accomplished via schematic exploration, prototypical design, experience programming, concept development, space planning, experience design, interior and exterior design, colors, materials and finishes. patterns, filigrees and currency imagery with the objective to create a seamless experience with a singular visual vocabulary. Luxurious finishes found on furnishings, displays and accessory fabrics combine to make the patron’s visit a pleasant and comfortable experience, while reinforcing American Express. Flexible seating arrangements cater to business travelers, travel enthusiasts and families alike. Semi-private workstations with high-speed wifi enables the business traveler to stay connected, while the locally inspired menu of seasonal fare and signature cocktails, provides convenient sustenance. Signature sounds and scents enhance the multi-sensory environment. The Lounge beckons guests to enter through its iconic blue doors. Behind the member services desk, the living green wall begins to transport guests away from the concourse’s hectic atmosphere.
