BEFORE AFTER Removal of an underused storage room and enclosed kitchenette make the First floor lounge more spacious and user-friendly. BEFORE AFTER In the Interfaith Chapel, wardrobes were removed to make better use of space. A new location for the ablution (washing) station improves privacy and circulation. The geometry of new carpet aligns with qibla to help people position themselves for prayer. BEFORE AFTER Vinyl floor tile in the basement has been replaced with linoleum. Linoleum is extremely sustainable. It is produced almost entirely from natural raw materials - linseed oil, flax seeds, wood flour and jute. 70% of these materials are rapidly renewable, and 43% are recycled. BEFORE AFTER A new window and full glass door increase visibility for the Study Room. Addition of marker-board paint wall provides students an alternative way to study. Excellent acoustic separation is maintained with attention to details and new seals. BEFORE AFTER Comfort and wheelchair accessibility in the Laundry room are improved by the addition of a new table for folding clothes and the provision of lounge furniture. BEFORE AFTER New lighting, interior finishes, and furniture transform the Recreation Room. BEFORE AFTER All new finishes and full glass doors make corridors and lounges more inviting.
