The Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service has lost one of its finest. A truly remarkable friend and colleague to so many for over 28 years service to the Isle of Wight. The big man with a big heart and an even bigger smile. Ask not, how did he die, but how did he live? Not, what did he gain, but what did he give? These are the units to measure the worth Of a man as a man, regardless of birth. Not, what was his church, nor what was his creed? But had he befriended those really in need? Was he ever ready, with a word of good cheer? To bring back a smile, to banish a tear? Not what did he sketch in a newspaper say, But how many were sorry when he passed away? Our thoughts and prayers are with Helen, Grace, Toby, Harry, Max and Pauline, Roger and Claire. With deepest sympathy. All Officers, firefighters and staff of the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service Fly high Chum, RIP.
