Big heart, big love
- my husband.
You were my inspiration,
you gave me everything and
picked me up when I was low.
A true husband and best friend.
I cannot even begin to imagine
life without my true love but
know you would not want the
children and I to be unhappy but
to embrace and hold strong
your memory and take
inspiration moving forward with
our lives and do what
makes us happy.
Your children are a true likeness
to you and I promise to love
and protect them and know
without doubt they will make you
proud, even prouder than you
were already of them.
I hold your strength and love of
life with me and will be
strong for you.
Love you always
and forever, Helen
POYNTER
Martin
Daddy,
you made us laugh,
you played with us and were
always there to cheer us up.
You were funny and we know how
proud you were of
everything we did and achieved.
We will always remember your
kind heart and make you proud of
everything we do as we will be
doing it for you.
You were an inspiration to us and
your love and memories will go
on living in our hearts and memories forever.
Love and miss you
so much already.

Martin William
April 2, 1965-February 25, 2015
This was never in our plans.
Loving memories of a
special Son.
To lose someone so special
is really hard to bear
it hardly seems believable
that you’re no longer there
You left us far too early
before your time, it seems
and now you’ll never have
the chance
to fulfil all those dreams
However hard it is though
we’ll take comfort in
the thought
of all the memories we have
and the happiness you brought
You always lived life to the full
but ours won’t be the same
until the day when we can see
your smiling face again
Mart,
love and miss you.

The Fire Service has lost a
legend. We have lost the
dearest, funniest, kindest and
most caring friend we could
ever have wished for. We feel
so privileged to have known
you for so many years, you are
to us just like family.
Our memories will be cherished
forever and we will never ever
forget you. We will always be
there for your family and to
watch the children grow.

Pinhead to his friends...
The Isle of Wight
Fire & Rescue Service
has lost one of its finest.
A truly remarkable friend and
colleague to so many for over
28 years service to the
Isle of Wight.
The big man with a big heart
and an even bigger smile.
Ask not, how did he die,
but how did he live?
Not, what did he gain,
but what did he give?
These are the units to measure
the worth
Of a man as a man,
regardless of birth.
Not, what was his church,
nor what was his creed?
But had he befriended those
really in need?
Was he ever ready,
with a word of good cheer?
To bring back a smile,
to banish a tear?
Not what did he sketch in a
newspaper say,
But how many were sorry
when he passed away?
Our thoughts and prayers are
with Helen, Grace, Toby,
Harry, Max and
Pauline, Roger and Claire.
With deepest sympathy.
All Officers, firefighters and
staff of the Isle of Wight
Fire and Rescue Service
Fly high
Chum, RIP.
Love you
always, Si,

To Helen, Roger,
Pauline, Claire and
all the children,
such a tragic loss for all of
you, and all of us who knew
Martin.
Our thoughts are with
all of Martin’s loved ones
at this very
sad time.
With love from
John and Anna

POYNTER
Martin (Pinhead)
No matter how long we never
saw each other,
when we did it only seemed
like yesterday.
A truly great friend,
you will always be in our
thoughts.
We shared so many memories
that will never leave us.
Your great friends,
Shane and Mike
