June 19, Sunday, 2011, 4:00 p.m. Dinner Celebration Ginger Asian Bistro 3100 West White Oaks Drive Springfield, Illinois 62704 The Order of the Knights of Rizal (OKR) Lincolnland Chapter will hold a dinner celebration on the occasion of the 150th Anniversary of the birth of Dr. Jose Rizal. There will be guest speaker, presentations by members of the Chapter and awarding of medallions to the Chapter’s Kababaihang Rizalista in America members. The Springfield-based Filipino American Historical Society (FilAmHisSo) and the Central Illinois Philippine American Society (CIPAS) will present other programs following that of the OKR. June 19, 2011, Sunday, 11:00 a.m. Annual Summer Picnic Veterans Park (Veterans Shelter) 400-500 Block of Springfield Road (East Side) Springfield Road, East Peoria, Illinois 61611 This annual summer picnic/potluck sponsored by Filipino American Society of Central Illinois (FASCI) will focus on the celebration of Dr. Rizal’s 150th birth anniversary with a display of Dr. Rizal’s books, copies of his letters to his family, the singing of “Ang Bayan Ko” and the reciting of the poem “ARAW NG KALAYAAN” by a member of the Knights of Rizal.
