Welcome Address: Mr. Maulik Jasubhai,

Group CEO, Jasubhai Group

Mr. Maulik Jasubhai is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Chemtech Foundation & Jasubhai Group, which includes Jasubhai Engineering and Jasubhai Media. He was the Founder CEO of Jasubhai

Digital Media. Jasubhai Digital Media was a pioneering IT Media company with brands like Digit,

Chip, Skoar and ZDNet, one of the first online IT portals in India.

Prior to founding Jasubhai Digital Media he had held the position of Executive Director with

Fischer Rosemount, now Emerson Process Management Systems and worked for the corporate office in St. Louis. Currently he is the Director in charge with Jasubhai Engineering Services in

India, Middle East and world markets, in addition to being the Publisher of all of Jasubhai Media titles and trade shows.

Mr. Maulik Jasubhai holds an undergraduate degree in Industrial management from Carnegie

Mellon University and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton Business School, Pennsylvania.

Keynote Address: Mr. Prasad K Panicker,

Executive Director, Kochi Refinery, BPCL

Mr. Prasad K Panicker is currently the Executive Director of the Bharat Petroleum Kochi Refinery. A chemical engineer from the Government College of Engineering, Thrissur, and an MBA holder from

Cochin University of Science and Technology, Panicker began his career at the erstwhile Cochin

Refineries Ltd in 1982. He has worked with various operational departments of the refinery and was the General Manager (Operations) of BPCL’s Mumbai Refinery.

An expert in petroleum refining, Mr. Panicker has audited the performance of several petroleum companies across the country as a member of the Oil Industry Safety Directorate (OISD), under the

Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. He has spent more than 30 years in BPCL-Kochi Refinery &

Mumbai Refinery, in various fields like Manufacturing, Corporate Planning, Process Engineering, Oil

Movement & Storage, Process Safety etc.

Currently he is the overall in-charge of BPCL-Kochi Refinery and looks after Operations, Technology,

Human Resources, Projects etc. He is also the Board Member in Petronet CCK Limited, Trustee on the

Board of Trustees for Cochin Port Trust, Vice President - Kerala Management Association and Member of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Keynote Address: Mr. A S Basu,

Managing Director, CPCL

Mr. Basu has over three decades of professional experience in refinery operations and management. He had been the Executive Director (Operations), Refinery Headquarters of

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), before taking over as the Managing Director of Chennai Petroleum

Corporation Ltd (CPCL).

A chemical engineer from Jadavpur University, West Bengal, Mr. Basu, also served in diverse capacities in IOC’s Mathura and Haldia refineries. His cross functional exposure would help him extract value from across the hydrocarbon value chain in the downstream, which is invaluable, especially in difficult market conditions.

Keynote Address: Mr. Sanjay Joshi,

Managing Director, Aker Solutions

Mr. Joshi is a Chartered Chemical Engineer with over 30 years of professional experience. He started his professional career in 1980 with Development Consultants in India.

Over the course of a distinguished career, he has worked both in India and abroad for companies of repute such as Comprimo Engineering, Granherne UK (Halliburton group), and Aker Powergas.

Starting as a Design Engineer in Piping Department, Mr. Joshi went on to gain experience in

Process Design and Project Management. His domain knowledge and appreciation of multidisciplinary interface saw him moving into a role as a Project Manager. He gained experience in the oil & gas industry on both onshore and offshore projects in Oman, UAE and UK.

In July 2000, Mr. Joshi rejoined Aker Powergas as Operations Manager to spearhead the new Oil &

Gas offshore business segment for the company. In 2007, Mr. Joshi was elevated to the position of

Director - Operations and rose to his current position as the Managing Director of the company in

2010. Mr. Joshi has to his credit a number of presentations in various conferences.

Principal Secretary, Department of Home,

Government of Kerala

Mr. Luxman Radhakrishnan, IAS is the Principal Secretary (Home), Government of Kerala. He belongs to the Indian Administrative Service (Kerala Cadre) and has a BSc (Hons.) from Bangalore University,

Masters in HR Management from University of Kerala, MBA from IIM Bangalore in Public Policy and Management with specialisation in infrastructure and a term in the Maxwell School USA in

Public Policy and a two-year Post Masters Degree in International Public Administration from Ecole

Nationale d’ Administration, Paris.

Prior to assuming his current role, Mr. Radhakrishnan held the position of Chairman of Jawaharlal

Nehru Port Trust (JNPT). He was the Principal Secretary to the Government of Kerala for Water

Resources and Chairman, Kerala Water Authority, Principal Secretary of both Power and Ports

Departments with additional charge as CMD; and Chairman & Managing Director Kerala State Power

Finance & Infrastructure Corporation.

He has worked as Secretary for Co-operation, Forests, Ports and Higher Education for five years and as Secretary (Industries) for over five years and several key positions leading the public enterprises in the state of Kerala for over two decades.

Concluding Remarks: Mr. S P Rajanish,

Head, Domestic Sales, L&T Valves Limited

Mr. SP Rajanish has nearly three decades of experience in industrial valves marketing, in both India and overseas.

He forged strategic alliances with global oil majors and EPC contractors and played a key role in positioning L&T Valves as a preferred supplier of high-end valves for the oil & gas industry. In the power domain, Mr. Rajanish spearheaded the marketing of new products including ultra high pressure valves for super-critical power plants.

Mr Rajanish currently heads sales & marketing for L&T Valves Limited. He is a BE (Mech) from

Bengaluru University and an avid philatelist.

Mr. Murthy has worked as an Instrumentation Engineer, in various capacities in Hindustan

Fertilizers, NaMr.up, Madras Fertilizers, Chennai before joining BPCL in 1983 where he is currently working. He has worked as first line Instrumentation engineer in maintenance for seven years and then for about twenty years in projects department in BPCL. He has a rich experience of working in numerous projects small/big, revamp / grass root, energy conservation / capacity enhancement projects. He has been a part of numerous technical discussions with several Indian and foreign consultants. He is an Electronics graduate from BITS Pilani.

Ms R Priyamvada is currently heading Instrumentation division in Engineers India Limited. A science graduate from Madras University, she has obtained her B Tech degree in Instrumentation from

Madras Institute of Technology & Master of Technology (Applied optics) from IIT Delhi. She joined

EIL in 1983 as Management Trainee. She has played a key role in developing technical specifications and standards, conceptualization & execution of Control and Safety Systems for major grass root refineries, petrochemical plants. Mr. Ashok Simon has over 28 years of experience as an Instrumentation engineer in the refinery industry. He had joined Cochin Refinery as a Management Trainee in the year 1984. He has worked in various Departments of the refinery and involved in all the major projects activities of the refinery.

He has been on a deputation to Baharain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) during 2002-2004. Currently designated as the Chief Manager (Project) at BPCL Kochi Refinery, he is responsible for looking after the Instrumentation activities of BPCL’s prestigious Integrated Refinery Expansion Project (IREP).

Mr. Sathyanarayan H C has a rich experience of 24 years in Instrumentation and Projects in Power,

Petrochemicals and Refinery industries. He has completed his engineering from the University of

Mysore, Mysore. He started his career with Tata Consulting Engineers, Bengaluru before shifting to

Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Limited, Maharashtra Gas Cracker Complex, Nagothane. Later he joined the grass root refinery Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited, Mangalore during its nascent stages. He has handled projects, pre commissioning and commissioning of all the phases of the refinery. Presently is heading the Instrumentation department at MRPL.

Mr. Amitava Biswas is the Country Head for Honeywell Process Solutions, India. He has been in his current role since December 2010. Formerly he was the director for integrated supply chain at Honeywell Automation India Limited, overseeing the functions of manufacturing, production, operations & maintenance and was responsible for leveraging competencies and footprint across various India entities. With over 25 years of experience in industrial automation and systems, he has spent the greatest part of his career at Honeywell since 1991. He holds a Bachelors in technology from IIT Kanpur. Since then Amitava’s career has moved through various roles in engineering, vertical market leadership and management across Honeywell’s businesses in India.

Mr. Akilur Rahman has more than 24 years of experience in R&D, Technology Management,

(Electrical Engineering) from IIT Kharagpur with wide knowledge of power and automation technology applications in utilities and industries. He has worked in India, Germany and Switzerland in various international and global roles. Currently, he heads the global initiative of Engineering
