Working in conjunction with Engineering, Flight Services, Administration and Flight Catering team, to
achieve the objectives of bringing better controls on the inventory, procurement and greater efficiencies
resulting in increased savings and smart working environment. Successfully managed the supply and
procurement function for PIA Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad stations independently. My duties and
responsibilities encompassed following;

Procure all PIA flight kitchens commercial and catering equipment requirements along with Logistics
function according to laid down policy and procurement rules. Procure/Purchase almost all Bulk stock and
contractual items and manage all Contracts and Negotiations according to PIA and PPRA Rules.





Responsible for Contracts Management, issuance of tenders and RFP/RFQ, evaluation of offers and
selection of vendors for award of business.
Regularly watch re-order levels, minimum levels and danger levels of the catering food and stock items.
By using the POSS and PRIMS automated inventory, Asset & contract management systems, manage the
Procurements/Logistics, stocks and inventory as per the standard SOPs.
Work closely with the inspection and quality control departments in order to meet the specs and standards.
Receive and retain stock items as per HACCP standards for perishable and non perishable catering items.
Develop yearly and monthly Procurement Plan based on the projected schedules and forecast by the user
departments.
Being a member of cross-functional team, pre-qualification team engaged in vendor selection process.

exporters of Biscuits and confectionary in Pakistan. I provided leadership in centralizing the procurement
process, contracting and vendor management. Utilize the established purchase process to involve, engage,
and educate both internal stakeholders as well as the suppliers. Streamlined procurement process,
contracting parameters and ongoing vendor management and contract administration to ensure internal
department remain properly engaged.











Reporting to Director Procurement, Supply Chain and exports/ Deputy Managing Director.
Responsible to plan material requirements, procurement, warehousing and logistics functions.
Procure/Purchase almost 600 items of Raw, Packing and Printing materials according to procurement plan
Co-ordinate with sales and marketing department especially when the new product is launching and provide
all promotional and POS materials in time according to the launching plan.

Implementation of ISO9002 in Procurement department. Responsible to conduct ISO9000 surveillance
audits after every 6months.
Keep the costs in control by effective sourcing and maintain file records of each supplier and item.
Maintain sufficient pool of suppliers in order to have true competition for price control & avoid shortages.
Make Purchase Price index of each material of past years to see the price increase/decrease trends.
Make available all Composite, Pearlized, Metallized BOPP, PVC of different sizes and microns using in
printing of different wrappers along with the other chemicals and resins for almost 200 products.
Import planning of Raw Materials, Packing Materials, pigments, dyes and resins.
Control inventory costs by better resource allocation and inventory and procurement management.
Make import plan, import duties arrangement, clearance of goods in time.
Responsible for opening of Letter of Credit (LC) to import materials, all LC dealings with the local and
foreign banks and to communicate with the international seller.
