reetings from Living Waters. We are looking
forward to another great camping season in 2011.
G
We are convinced that as Christians seeking to grow
closer to God and to be effective in His service, there
needs to be times of refreshment and renewal. Dr. Vance
Havner once said “you must come apart and rest or
you’re just going to come apart.” Proclaiming the Gospel
of Jesus Christ and providing an oasis for Christians to be
rejuvenated are the primary goals of this ministry. Unplug
and Reconnect is the theme for the 2011 season. We need to
unplug from the daily demands and distractions of day to day
life and reconnect with our Lord and Savior as well as family and friends. Living Waters
can be the perfect place to renew your relationship with Christ and recommit to
serving others.
Because Christ is Coming!

Adventure
Come Apart The Psalmist wrote in Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God.” The
wilderness provides a unique opportunity to get away from every day life with its demands
and distractions leaving behind the things that rob us from spending quality time with God.
It gives space to “come apart before you come apart.” More then ever, young people are
stressing out as more demands are placed upon them in our fast pace, high tech world. This
summer, join us on an outing to rekindle your faith and renew your spirit as you discover
God in the quietness of a wilderness setting.
For over 20 years, Living Waters has been offering wilderness trips for all ages. Each summer,
numerous groups have counted on Living Waters to take care of all the necessary details
to make their group outing safe and enjoyable. Our scheduled open session trips offer
individuals the opportunity to sign up and take part on exciting adventures here in Maine
and Canada.
LIT 4-Week Program
June 19 to July 15; Ages 15 to 18; Cost: $1,200.00
This is a 4-week program for older teens that have a desire to be involved with a
camping ministry. You will be working with our regular trip leaders to learn the skills
necessary to becoming a Certified Trip Leader. These skills include learning the basics of
canoeing, paddling and poling, map and compass, fire starting, campsite selection and
setup. Included in this package is the Allagash trip, the Jr. Maine Guide/LIT trip, the Teen
vs Wild Maine, plus an additional weekend trip.
Six-Day Allagash Canoe Trip
June 19 to 25; Ages 13 to 17; Cost: $425.00
This is a true wilderness canoe trip through the heart of the Maine Wilderness. The
Allagash is truly an unforgettable experience and is our best trip for spotting moose!
Our six-day trip starts out at Churchill Lake and ends in Allagash Village. You will
learn lots of skills such as how to paddle a canoe, set up camp, fire wood selection
and building a fire, wilderness cooking and how to use a spark to start a fire.
Junior Maine Guide/LIT
June 26 to July 1; Ages 13 to 15; Cost: $350.00
A one-week program for boys and girls who desire to learn lots of outdoor
survival skills, while having the time of their life! We are in camp a couple of days,
and the rest is spent on the St. Croix River. You will learn how to plan and pack
for a trip, proper use of equipment, the basics of canoeing and canoeing skills,
how to share a devotional, map and compass, knots and their uses, campsite
management, cooking over an open fire, introduction to poling, introduction to
class II rapids, fly casting, and rump bumping at Little Falls.
Teen vs Wild Maine
July 3 to 8; Ages: 14 to 18; Cost: $450.00
8
An exciting five days awaits you, full of Teen vs. Wild adventures! You will learn lots
of Wilderness skills while having a time of your life! Introduction to play boating
on the Penobscot River (class II-III), and a multi-day bush whack/back packing
(off trail) hike. Teens will also learn how to equip themselves for surviving in
11
their faith when presented with pressures of the world. While being in good physical
condition is important, no previous experience is required.
Teen vs Wild Quebec
July 10 to 21; Ages: 14 to 18; Cost: $695.00
The NE Mistassibi River is one of Quebec’s finest back-country whitewater canoeing
adventures. You will travel 80 miles by canoe on this remote river. Teens will learn numerous
wilderness travel and survival skills taught by experienced trip leaders, including how to handle
a canoe in class II-III whitewater. Participants will learn to work as a team, problem solve, and
take on leadership roles. Scriptures come alive as group discussions focus on personal and
spiritual growth, linking trip experiences with the christian walk. The trip involves maneuvering
numerous rapids, catching fish for a couple of meals, and learning to start a warming fire
with a spark. Difficulty: The Mistassibi is a class II-III river, with only one portage and a couple
places to line. We will teach you the necessary skills to travel with confidence in a canoe.
Junior Survivor
July 31 to August 5; Ages 10 to 12; Cost: $325.00
PARENTS, Junior Survivor is a great wilderness experience for first-timers. We begin our
canoeing experience on Third Machias Lake. Your child will learn canoeing and camping skills.
Each day is filled with lots of fun activities in the form of friendly tribal competitions. The scripture comes alive during evening devotions with a guest speaker that will present the Truth of
God’s Word. SUPERVISION: There is at least a ratio of 1 leader per 4 campers.
Wilderness Extreme/Super Teen Week Combo
August 7 to 12; Ages 13 to 18; Cost: $350.00
There is a limit of 12 campers for this program. This is a new program this year. Campers will
spend part of their first two days at the wilderness center learning the basics of canoeing, paddling
and poling, map and compass skills, and fire building. Then you will put your skills into practice
during a 3-day trip on the St. Croix River.
Our Purpose is to provide a safe tripping experience in a Christ centered
atmosphere and to impart outdoor living skills while sharing the Christian message though Bible
study and positive role modeling. Living Waters is ready to assist you with a meaningful outdoor
experience in a safe and professional manner. All trips are led by experienced Registered Maine
Guides and or Certified Trip Leaders. We rent late model vans for dependable transportation. Our
goal in 2011 is to have a satellite phone on every outing. Generous donations and 100’s of volunteer
hours enable us to offer the Highest Quality Programming Possible for about 1/2 the price (or
less) of ‘for profit’ organizations.
Group Outings Numerous options available from 1 day up to 3 weeks in Maine and
Canada! Contact us to discuss details.
