St. Clairsville President’s Message... Dear Shooters, It is my great pleasure to invite you and your family to attend the 122nd Annual Ohio State Shoot being held in Marengo at Cardinal Center Campgrounds, the official Homegrounds of the O.S.T.A . I personally want to thank the entire Fishburn family...Jack, Karen, Denise, and Devin as well as Aden Kaufman, John Wengerd and the entire Fishburn staff for providing us with one of the best run shooting and camping facilities in the nation. This shoot will mark our 3rd year at Cardinal Center. I find it somewhat amazing that with shooting being down nationwide due to the rising costs of leadshot, shells, and gasoline... the attendance at Cardinal continues to grow. We acknowledge and appreciate your continued support. We have made quite a few changes in this year’s program. We will be shooting 9 banks25 per trap, and 18 banks- 25 pair per trap on the doubles. We have added additional Non-Resident trophies for our visiting shooters and we now have both a Resident & NonResident Chairshooter category in all events. We have also increased the added money. On Friday evening, we will have our Annual Hog Roast dinner to celebrate our Hall of Fame inductees, Peter Streuber and Peggy Ann Wise. Thanks to the ODNR, we will have our fishing contest, so bring your rod and reel. We have a wonderful indoor pool so don’t forget your bathing suit. On behalf of myself and the entire O.S.T.A. Board of Directors, we welcome any suggestions that will help us as we continue to strive to provide a quality State Championship. I would like to congratulate all of the Ohio Shooters whom attained All-American status this year. Once again, Ohio shooters lead the nation with 14 All-American shooters including 2 Team Captains. WELL DONE !!! Monday is SCTP Day when all our young athletes will be in competition. These young shooters represent the lifeblood and future of our great sport. Let’s give them our support. The Ohio Foundation will again provide college scholarships for deserving Ohio high school seniors. The Foundation also conducts Ladies shooting clinics and supports all SCTP events. Please help us in supporting the Foundation by playing the Foundation options as listed in the program. Let us not forget our many sponsors and advertisers.... Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Friends of the NRA, Remington, State Auto Insurance, Brittain Motors and Caesar Guerini Shotguns. Please support all of our sponsors and advertisers that are listed in the program. Finally I want to commend my fellow Board of Directors. Without each and every one of these folks and their hard work, a great State Shoot would not be possible. Special thanks to Brad Dysinger for returning as our Tournament Director, to Sue Kaufman for all of her SCTP duties, to Teri Bichsel for handling the tough job of acquiring trophies, and last but certainly not least- to Noreen Snively our Secretary whose constant hard work and efforts are what keep myself and the O.S.T.A. on track. GREAT JOB TEAM !!!! I hope that everyone enjoys their time at Cardinal Center and shoots well. H.Tad Johnson President 2007-2008 LODGING INFORMATION CHESTERVILLE Exit 151 of I-71 (at S.
