Thank you for submitting the white paper entitled “Arizona Center for Educational Success“
#151. President Shelton and Provost Hay have reviewed your white paper and the
recommendation from the Strategic Planning and Budget Advisory Transformation
Subcommittee (SPBAC).
They agree with the recommendation from the SPBAC subcommittee. The President and
Provost also note that your proposal does not seem to form an academic unit that would need
their approval. Your proposal appears to use funding already available in your college for the
creative purpose of forming a support office to obtain additional outside funding for the College
of Education. If this is not your intent, please let me know. Otherwise, it does not appear that
you need to proceed to the Full Proposal submission stage. In any case, I have attached the
guidelines for the Full Proposal submission.
The Full Proposal should be submitted to the Provost via the Full Proposal submission site that
will be able to receive proposals by December 4th. The website link has not yet been determined,
but the submission site will appear on the Provost website under the UA Transformation Plan
link. We hope to receive your Full Proposal by December 15th, but if that deadline is not
possible, let us know by sending me an email message.
If you encounter challenges in coming to an agreement among the members of your team or
among the affected faculty, appointed personnel, staff, or students, please contact me at the same
email address listed above. We are developing campus teams who should be able to assist with
moving discussions through to an agreeable conclusion.
