eMILPO is a function-based system, unlike
its predecessor, which was transactionbased. This means that eMILPO will
automatically send the appropriate
transaction for the function that is being
performed.

eMILPO is a web application, accessed through the
Army Human Resource System (AHRS) Web Portal,
accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, worldwide, by
all echelons of field users. eMILPO will provide the U.S.
Army with a reliable, timely, and efficient mechanism for
managing strength accountability and performing
personnel actions. The system provides visibility of the
location, status and skills of soldiers from both a high
level (top of system) and a unit level (bottom of system),
which is vital in determining the war fighting capability of
the U.S Army and subordinate commands.
