ServSafe® Food Protection
Manager Certification
Course & Examination
The ServSafe® course and examination is a
nationally accredited course required by many
restaurants prior to promotion to a management position.
Participants must read the textbook ServSafe®
Manager 6th Edition thoroughly prior to class.
The pace of this one-day (8 hour) review session is rapid and the test will be administered
at the end of the class.
Fee
$140.00 Textbook/ Class/ Exam
$65.00 Class /Exam without textbook

The Johnson County Environmental Public
Health Department serves Johnson County
residents and businesses with a multitude of
services in addition to food safety education and
monitoring. We also complete inspection and
consultation of Onsite Wastewater Treatment
Systems, lodging establishments, childcare
facilities, private drinking water systems and
emergency preparedness. We will be glad to
supply information we have available concerning
any environmental public health concern such as
air quality, insect/ animal diseases and other
environmental related hazards.

Food Safety Training Class
Schedule
This course covers the basics of safe food
handling, dangers of foodborne illness, personal
health & hygiene and temperature control along
with the knowledge needed to reduce the risk of
spreading food borne illness and to comply with
the requirements of the MO Food Code This
course is required for 25% of food handlers (wait
staff, bartenders, cooks, deli workers and
dishwashers) on duty at any given time. There is
no fee to attend this class.

safety certificate.

Classes may be cancelled due to
weather and low attendance. Please
register one week in advance of the
food safety training classes.
Wash your hands and use a utensil, clean glove or a
napkin to handle food to prevent Norovirus,
Hepatitis A, Shigella, and Salmonella Typhi .

Environmental Health on the left side of the page
and select Food Protection from the drop down
menu. Click on Online Training Available under
Food Safety Training or go to State Food Safety
website directly by typing www.statefoodsafety.com
into your web browser and selecting Johnson
County, MO for either the Food Handler or Manager
training options.

The Food Handler course is available in Spanish,
Korean, Vietnamese, Mandarin and English.
The website charges a fee for the online courses.
JCCHS does receive payment for the online courses.
