Job Description:

Number of Internships: 2-3
Length of Internship: 3-6 months
Hours: 20-40 hours per week
Pay: Up to $20.00/hour depending on experience
Location: Bloomington, MN
Summary:
The Software Development Intern is responsible for working on a team to build applications and
tools that support the PLATO product line and courseware. An intern participates in the full
development lifecycle for their project, working with other interns under the mentorship of the
PLATO Development and Architecture team.
Responsibilities:
• Works with the business analyst to understand their project requirements
• Creates and documents a design to complete the project
• Works with the project architect(s) to validate and improve the design
• Completes the software development of the project
• Works with the Quality Assurance analyst to test the project
• Works with the Software Configuration team to deploy the project
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• Candidate should be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Computer Science
or a related area
• Candidate should have completed courses in the following:
� Database Design and Development
� Computer Programming/Science I & II
� Object Oriented Language
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
• Must have a positive attitude and excellent collaborative teamwork skills
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Possess exceptional problem solving and analysis skills
• High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• An intern will need skills in the following or have the ability / desire to rapidly learn them:
o
Understanding and experience in Web development including CSS, JavaScript, jQuery and
HTML
o
Object Oriented Development
o
Design Patterns
o
Microsoft.NET / C#
o
Microsoft SQL Server
