2015 List of Fastest-Growing US Staffing Firms
Key Findings:
•
This year 102 firms made the list of fastest-growing US staffing firms with 15% compound
annual growth in revenue from 2010 through 2014.
•
Loyal Source garnered the largest CAGR at a whopping 160.4%. The median CAGR for the
top 10 firms on the list was 61.0% and for the full list was 24.2%.
•

10. Spectraforce Technologies Inc.
•
Seven of the top 10 fastest-growing staffing firms are based in the South, three of those
are based in North Carolina and two of those are based in Raleigh.
•
The competition was close, Spectraforce edged out No. 11 Malone Workforce Solutions
only when going beyond one digit passed the decimal point.
•
Most common segment on the list was IT staffing; approximately 36% of firms provided IT
staffing. Next most common was industrial staffing, provided by 32% of companies. In
addition, 22% of firms provided healthcare staffing.

Large firms on the list with more than $300 million in revenue include: Insight Global,
Elwood Staffing, Nesco Resource, On Assignment, Integrity Staffing Solutions and CHG
Healthcare Services Inc.
•
This year’s list is not directly comparable with last year’s list because of changes in
methodology. For example, last year’s list included firms’ payrolling revenue; this year’s
list does not.
•
The list is based on staffing revenue, which included temporary staffing revenue, direct
hire, retained search and temp-to-perm conversion fees. Firms with franchised operations
included revenue from franchisees. When the growth rate was calculated, revenue from
acquisitions were backed out. For the purposes of this list, staffing revenue did not
include revenue from payrolling, PEO services, MSP fees or pass-through funds, RPO
operations, HRO operations, or online staffing services.
•
To qualify for the list, staffing firms had to post at least $1 million in revenue in 2010 and
have compound annual revenue growth of at least 15% between 2010 and 2014. All
numbers are self-reported. However, the top 10 fastest-growing firms had to provide
financial statements to verify the numbers or provide verification of the numbers on
company letterhead when financial statements were not available. Only organic revenue
growth was considered. Revenue was adjusted to remove growth from acquisitions.

Staffing revenue from US operations only were considered. In some cases, firms were part
of larger international firms, but staffing revenue from international operations was not
considered. Examples of this include Phaidon International and Peoplelink (majority
owned by French staffing firm Groupe Crit). A majority stake in Veredus was acquired by
UK-based Hays PLC in December 2014; it was allowed on the list as the acquisition took
place at the very end of the reporting period.
•
This year, we also interviewed the top 10 fastest-growing staffing firms to learn about
their business and what fuels their growth. The story will appear in the October 2015
issue of Staffing Industry Review magazine and on the Web at
