Dear friends,
As your new Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture, it’s
my pleasure to welcome you to the 30th Annual Kentucky
Farm Bureau Beef Expo at the Kentucky Exposition
Center.
The Beef Expo is recognized as one of the nation’s elite
beef cattle exhibitions. Last year’s event set a record with
sales of $1.39 million, marking the fourth consecutive year
with sales in excess of $1 million. The 2015 show attracted
201 consignors from 18 states.
Youth exhibitors can test their skills in the annual
judging contest and junior show. The 2015 junior show
saw 379 head pass through the show ring, including 154
Kentucky animals.
It all happens in the Kentucky Exposition Center,
an elite facility with 1.2 million square feet of enclosed,
climate-controlled exhibition space and close proximity to
Louisville International Airport, dozens of Kentucky Proud
restaurants, and many other attractions.
Kentucky Department of Agriculture staff will be on
hand to check the health papers of all the animals that
enter the expo center, conduct the shows and sales, and
provide other services.
Please know that my door is always open. If I or my staff
can help you in any way, don’t hesitate to ask.
Again, welcome to the Kentucky Farm Bureau Beef
Expo. Best wishes on a successful show and sale.
Sincerely,
Sincerely,
RYAN F. QUARLES

Welcome to the 2016 Kentucky Farm Bureau Beef Expo
and the Kentucky National Hereford Show and Sale. We
are very proud to once again serve as the corporate sponsor
of the Beef Expo.
With over 468,000 members, Kentucky Farm Bureau
is actively involved in ensuring that Kentucky agriculture
remains a strong and vital element of our Commonwealth’s
economy. A big contributor to that economy and an
integral part of Kentucky agriculture is the beef cattle
industry.
Kentucky ranks 8th in beef cattle inventory nationally
and is the top producing cattle state east of the Mississippi
River. We applaud the efforts of those who work so
diligently to improve an industry already known for its
excellence, through events such as the annual Kentucky
Farm Bureau Beef Expo.
Considering ever-increasing consumer demand for
high-quality and safe food, efforts to improve Kentucky’s
beef cattle industry are now more important than ever. The
Beef Expo offers the opportunity to purchase some of the
best breeding stock in the United States and network with
breeders from Kentucky and surrounding states.
Again, we welcome you to the 2016 Kentucky Farm
Bureau Beef Expo and hope the many valuable resources
available here will benefit both you and your cattle
operation.
Sincerely,
Mark Haney
President

• In a world of endless e-Blasts, newfangled marketing schemes and countless
online sales for us to buy cattle thousands of miles away with the click of a
button, competitive barely begins to describe the cattle business. No matter
your marketing scheme, today it’s simply a necessity to produce cattle with
extra phenotype and a storied pedigree to be competitive. This herd sire has the
phenotype to change a program and the genetics to back up your eye. Named
“Rule Breaker” for a reason, this dude isn’t your average Hereford. He hits on all
the herd bull basics – butt, nuts and guts — plus he is huge haired, good looking
and as sound as red and white comes.
• HVW Rule Breaker was exhibited at the 2015 NAILE where he won an ultra
stout class and was the ringside favorite of many in the division. Go to www.
hannahwine.com for updated pictures and video closer to sale time.
• Selling 2/3 interest and full possession.

C4 is out of an outstanding, large bodied P606 cow that has been a top revenueproducing female for us of over $30,000. C4 has the ability to win in the showring
and to follow up to be a front pasture cow. We have had excellent results with our
Wyarno daughters that we calved out this year. Don’t let this one pass you by.

is the first son of SSF 321L S109 Advance 250, the 2014 Ohio, West Virginia and

have “the look.” Her dam has roots in Remitall Route 66 and Legend 242. With
genetics like these, you can place your money on a prospect like this one. If you

She goes back to Remitall Online and Pure Gold on the top side of her pedigree

look no further. She is a diamond in the rough and would fit perfectly into the

• A very clean, smooth fronted female with lots of length and stretch down her top.
She goes back to the famous Pure Gold on the top side of her pedigree and the
legendary P606 on the bottom side. Her bloodlines speak for themselves! She has
a strong set of EPDs backing her up as well with 80 on YW and 50 on WW. She
will make a very nice brood cow in any registered or commercial cow herd for
any cattle producer. She will also be able to withstand some stiff competition in
the showring as well. Juniors, don’t pass her up in the stalls at Louisville!

• We have this offering out of an exciting young cow we just moved to the donor
pen and sired by our 2011 Illinois State Fair Champion Bull, BH Vortex. She
offers lots of volume, a big foot and solid numbers. She is sure to compete this
summer. She is truly a cow in the making with power cows like DJR Nickie 302

• The proof is in the pedigree. This Stockman son is extra thick down his top. He
is extended and muscular up through his front one-third and lays in a smooth
shoulder. He reaches free and fluidly off both ends with a big foot and huge bone.
He is extra long spined and rigid. His mother is out of Boomer 29F and had a
second to none maternal pedigree. He has multiple national champions on both
sides of his pedigree. Great opportunity to strengthen your herd.

• Stout and rugged describes this bull to a T. This Grizzly son is extra thick down
his top and through his hip and extends down into an explosive quarter. He
reaches free and fluidly off both ends with a big foot and huge bone. He is extra
long spined and combines that with being long sided with explosive spring of rib.
His mother is out of John Wayne and had a second to none maternal pedigree.

• Growth and performance describe this heifer. Out of Grizzly and Boomer 29F.
Her grandmother is the great MSU BR Markette 55N. Her mother’s full siblings
have won national championships and have had countless division wins. This
heifer is extra extended and clean out of her front one-third.
Beautiful profiling heifer.

• Rickelle is sired by 4R, one of the hottest and most consistent bulls the last five
years. Her dam is one of our lead donors and is producing functional and stylish
cattle. Along with her pedigree she has a very nice phenotype. She is smooth
through her front end, big middled and is square built. Also, being a May, she will
be in a different division at shows. Buy with confidence because she will be an
awesome cow.
