Vinuya On 5 November 2012, the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) - Office for Transportation Security (OTS) sent notice that Chelsea Ship Management and Marine Services Corp. (CSMMSC) had been chosen as a model Company for the joint project of the OTS and the Australian Embassy in the Philippines, on the implementation of the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code in the country. The purpose of the exercise was to determine areas for improvement, if there are any, in the implementation of the ISPS Code in the Philippines, by evaluating select port facilities and shipping companies employing the Gap Analysis (GA) method. The teams of evaluators included the following: Philippines - Commo. Isidro Banaria, Assistant Administrator; Mr. Perfecto Corpus, SECO V; Capt. Oscar Santos, Technical Assistant; and Ms. Gemma Ocampo, Intelligence Officer I. For Australia – Ms. Carrie Anne Henderson, Counselor (Transport); Ms. Bernadette Bathan, Project Manager; and Mr. Stephen Burnett, First Secretary. The visit to CSMMSC Office was made by the Team of Mr. Burnett, Capt. Santos and Ms. Ocampo on Thursday, 8 November, while vessel boarding of M/T Chelsea Cherylyn in PPIPC Calaca Batangas was made the next day, 9 November. Voluntary self-assessment questionnaires and interviews to key officers, both ashore and onboard, were used as basis for the evaluation process. A very heartening feedback was received from the OTS representative, Ms. Ocampo that - “there was no gap found in the ISPS Code implementation by CSMMSC office and vessel”. Licudine—Exec Assistant Udenna employees from the Taguig office trooped to the One Subic Plant on 26 October 2012, Friday, to attend the Invitational Dual Meet with One Subic Power Generation Corp. As that day was declared a special non working holiday (Eid’al Adha, a special day for our Muslim countrymen), the Udenna employees came in full force and eager for the sports competition with the One Subic Team. There were 7 events in the Dual Meet: Volleyball, Table Tennis, Dama, Perdegana, Chess, 3-Point Shoot-out and Pinoy Henyo. Udenna-Taguig Team arrived at One Subic Plant for the Invitational Dual Meet It was a close fight at the start, with players from An early victory of the Udenna-Taguig Team on the Volleyball Game Udenna-Taguig and One Subic trying to beat each other. Luckily, the Udenna-Taguig Team wearing the feisty color of Fuchsia prevailed and won in 5 out of 7 sports events. The Udenna-Taguig team won in Volleyball, Dama, Perdegana, 3-point Shoot-out and Pinoy Henyo while the Subic team won in Chess and Table Tennis. The Udenna-Taguig Team went home with the trophy and bragging rights as Champion for Year 2012. Hurray to the Udenna-Taguig Team!
