Nanyang is located approximately 15 miles from the city center of Singapore. The Nanyang exchange is the only program where accountancy students can have accountancy courses transfer. The NTU accounting courses use International Financial Reporting Standards as opposed to the U.S. NTU is also open to nonaccountancy majors, but those students cannot take accountancy courses at Nanyang. It has a tropical rainforest climate. Singapore is a very interesting place to study business and has an abundance of multinational firms. It is the 4th leading financial center in the world and has the 4th highest GDP. English is one of the 4 official languages of Singapore. Housing Nanyang Technological University has fifteen residence halls.
