Colesburg, Iowa. Camp C.S. Klaus is situated on a 200
acre wooded valley. The camp is home to a 40 foot
climbing tower, newly constructed COPE course, a
large indoor dining hall, and beautiful newly dredged
lake. With its seven camp sites, platform tents,
private showers, caves, and a water fall; Camp Klaus
provides a comfortable yet adventurous camping
experience of both the youth and adults we serve.
Camp C.S. Klaus currently has over 30 miles worth of
walking trails and road ways, within those trails and
road ways the terrain of the landscape is very rough
and rugged. Within those trails, we offer many
programs for the youth which include, a newly
developed BMX course, wilderness outpost trail, a
newly developed frisbee golf course trail, and daily
walking/hiking trails for all ages. With the camp
situated within the lime stone formations of Iowa,
the trails and roads can be quite fun, but yet very
dangerous. The Northeast Iowa Council has focused
its priorities with safety by protecting the youth we
serve.
