CAST BIOS
BETTY WHITE (Annie Eason) – Betty White was born in Oak Park, Illinois and grew
up in Los Angeles. After graduating from Beverly Hills High School, she got her big
break when she joined a local live TV program. Two years later, White inherited the
show.
Forming her own production company, White and her partners produced a number of
projects for television while she became a popular figure on talk, variety and game
shows. She is the winner of two daytime Emmy® Awards. In primetime, she won two
Emmy® Awards for her portrayal of Sue Ann Nivens, the Happy Homemaker, on “The
Mary Tyler Moore Show.” She earned two more Emmys® for her roles in “The Golden
Girls” and “The John Larroquette Show.”
White narrated the New Year’s Day Tournament of Roses Parade on network television
for 20 years and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for 10. She has appeared in a
number of feature films including “Dennis the Menace Strikes Again” and “Bringing
Down the House.” Her motion picture-for-television credits include “Chance of a
Lifetime” and “Stealing Christmas.” White’s most recent guest-starring roles have been
on “Everwood,” “Malcolm in the Middle,” “My Wife and Kids” and “The Practice,” for
which she was nominated for yet another Emmy®.
An avid activist for the health and welfare of animals, White created, wrote and hosted a
syndicated TV animal series, “The Pet Set,” and is the author of four books. She has
been honored by the Pacific Pioneers in Broadcasting, American Women in Radio and
TV, the American Comedy Awards, and has been inducted into the Television Academy’s
Hall of Fame.

RICHARD THOMAS (Richard Eason) – Richard Thomas was born in New York City.
Performing was in his genes – both of his parents were dancers with the New York City
Ballet.

As a child, Thomas had a Broadway show under his belt, as well as several appearances
on television. But he catapulted to fame when he was cast as aspiring writer John-Boy
in the long-running drama series “The Waltons,” a role that earned him an Emmy®
Award.
Among Thomas’ other television credits are the miniseries “Glory! Glory!,” and the TV
movies “The Red Badge of Courage,” “Roots: The Next Generations,” “All Quiet on the
Western Front,” “Johnny Belinda,” Stephen King’s “It,” “Yes Virginia, There Is a Santa
Claus,” “Crash Landing: The Rescue of Flight 232,” “Death in Small Doses,” “What Love
Sees,” and the title role in “Living Proof: The Hank Williams Jr. Story,” which he also coproduced.
Thomas appeared on stage in New York in the world premier of Steven Tesich’s “Square
One” and earned a rave review from The New York Times for his performance in the
Shakespeare Theatre’s production of “Richard II.”
Married and the father of seven, Thomas, his wife and youngest son recently moved to
New York City.
Currently, Mr. Thomas is starring on the Broadway stage in
“Democracy.”
