Spring 2015 Participants
Professional Interns: The Professional Internship Program grants fully funded six to twelve month internships at prominent American companies and organizations to current post-secondary students and recent graduates from Hungary. Positions are custom-sourced based on the specific skills and interests of the selected participants in fields ranging from business, economics and finance, to public administration, arts and culture, and the sciences.
Larion Gungl
Host Organization: AON Miami
Location: Miami, FL
Larion holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the
Univeristy of Pecs, Faculty of Business and Economics, and is very interested in financial analysis.
At AON, Larion will gain experience in all aspects of global account management and will be spending much of his time analyzing clients’ financial and risk exposures.
Nandor Hajdu
Host Organization: Riverside
Location:
Nandor received a master’s degree in Finance from
Corvinus University of Budapest. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and
Management from Corvinus, graduating as the valedictorian of his class.
Nandor is a highly motivated corporate finance and international management graduate who is interested in investment banking, financial advisory, or private equity.

Gyula Schmel
Host Organization: ABB
Location: Raleigh, NC
Gyula is currently pursuing his master’s degree in
Advanced Electric Power Systems from the University of Technology and Economics in Budapest (BUTE). He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Electric Power
Systems from BUTE.
At ABB, Gyula will gain hands-on experience in a laboratory environment working with various hardware and testing apparatus, more specifically, building automation, sensor, and dsitributed generation control applications.
Balint Szilveszter
Host Organization: Massachusetts General Hospital
Location: Cambridge, MA
Balint holds a Doctorate of Medicine from Semmelweis
University Budapest, Faculty of Medicine, specializing in Radiology.
Balint will be doing a 12-month medical research traineeship in the Department of Radiology at
Massachusetts General Hospital. He will be a research fellow in the field of cariovascular imaging.
Anna Toth
Host Organization: The Creative Coast
Location: Savannah, GA
Anna received her master’s degree in Marketing from
Corvinus University of Budapest. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the
University of Debrecen.
At The Creative Coast, Anna will contribute to all aspects of conference management including
TEDxCreative Coast and Geekend. She will gain expereince in social media management, press coverage, writing press releases, attendee coordination, and volunteer leadership.

Senior Fellow:
Mate Csanad
Host Institution: Stony Brook University
Location: New York, NY
Mate is an Assistant Professor at Eotvos
University in the Department of Atomic
Physics. Mate is conducting research to understand the phases of QCD matter and the quark-hadron transition. He is performing this research with the worldrenowned group of
Professor Roy Lacey at Stony Brook University.
