Each topic will have an initial phase of lecturing and in-depth reading, followed by an interactive phase pursuant to the Socratic Method where the students are supposed to come prepared to class and participate actively, e.g. by discussing relevant topics and solving cases. COURSE OBJECTIVES Understanding the legal background of private international law issues within the framework of European Union law. Understanding the interplay between procedural, substantive and conflict of laws rules. Moreover, finding an own point of view for developing unique and creative legal approaches for solving particular cases.
